About this Cook
I am married and have 1 child and 1 dog. I work full time outside of the home.
My favorite things to cook
I love my slow cooker!! I am an above average baker. Have considered making it a living. Mexican is my favorite to cook, but we are a meat and potato family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When my gandma was alive would get all of my Aunts and the girl cousins together to make homemade tamales. Grandma was always there watching carefully to make sure everything was done right.
My cooking triumphs
I finally made my first turkey about 2 years ago. It was so moist and fully cooked!! The years prior I could never get them cooked all the way thru.
My cooking tragedies
My lemon meringue pie. It is my nemisis. It is my husband favorite pie and after trying several recipes I can not get it to set up. I will keep trying! The first one I made, my husband drank thru a straw! God bless him!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust
I was looking for a quick and easy pizza dough recipe that I did not have to make time for rising when I was in a hurry..or simply forgot. I am a mom of 3 life happens. This was perfect! I did not have bread flour and used A/P and it came out just fine. I did add 1/2 tsp more salt, 1/2 tsp garlic powder and 1/2 tsp of onion powder to give it more flavor that my family enjoys. This recipe makes 2 14in pizzas with a hand tossed thickness. For my cheesy bread sticks I added a 1/2 of grated Parmesan cheese to the dough and it was again wonderful. Thank you for such a great and easy recipe.

Michelle's Soft Sugar Cookies
I was looking for sugar cookies that was slightly softer and a little sweeter than my go to recipe that I use with icing and sugars. I did a small change to the recipe of using 1/2 butter and 1/2 margarine. I have to say, these were divine! Please know that the dough does get soft very quickly so work in small batches, returning the the scraps to the fridge. I also had the oven temp at 350 and backed for 10 mins on a foil lined baking sheet. They were perfect and thank you for sharing the recipe! I will happily add this to my collection.

Restaurant Style Egg Drop Soup
Made this for the first time tonight. Hubby and I both love our restaurant's soup. Thank you for sharing this. First I will say I did not have prepared chicken broth. I had to use a soup base and water it worked just fine. I also subsituted finley sliced green onion for the chives.I did follow the suggestion of adding the cornstarch before the egg and it to worked wonderfully. My only change would be more ginger, or use fresh ginger, but that is my personal taste. It was perfect and we will be enjoying this again. Thank you!
