About this Cook
My name is Erica. I'm only 20 years old, but it's never too early to learn how to cook. For as long as I can remember my mom has always been THE BEST cook. Everything she makes is absolutely amazing. Especially her baking. She is the dessert queen in our family. When we go to pot lucks she brings dessert. I've always wanted to be able to do it like she does. So, I've asked for help. So far I'm doing pretty good. (:
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE baking. Cupcakes are my favorite thing to make. Of course, I also love baking cookies (chocolate chip are my favorite) and cakes. I have yet to make a really interesting cake. I think I need a little more help with that. (:
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and aunt make my great grandma's noodles every once in a while for Christmas and they're SO good. However, because the noodles are made from scratch it's not something we can do all the time, but I'd love to learn how to do it one day.
My cooking triumphs
I've actually been doing really well. When I think I can't get it right whatever I'm making turns out to be really good. 1. Monkey Cupcakes 2. Red Velvet Stars 3. Graveyard Cupcakes 4. Easy Dough Cookies
My cooking tragedies
There have been a few times where I've sat in the kitchen freaking out at the fact that I'd have to throw whatever I had made in the trash. 1. Chocolate Cupcakes and Frosting from scratch...NO BUENO!

Cupcake Graveyard
I LOVED making these. They're simple and very cute. I did make a few changes. 1. When I first put the cookie it the cupcake split right behind where the cookie sat. So, I used a small knife, measured (with the knife) the cookie and cut a small hole in the cupcake for the cookie to sit in. It worked like a charm. It worked and looked SO MUCH BETTER. 2. I wrote R.I.P on the cookie BEFORE placing it in the cupcake. It turned out so much nicer. Other than these two things everything was perfect!
