About this Cook
I am a 25 year old mother to 2 young beautiful children and wife to a wonderful husband who all love good food! I work full time, so making good home cooked food can be a challenge sometimes, but I'm up for a good challenge!
My favorite things to cook
I love stews, casseroles, and slow cooker recipes. My whole family loves my chicken and dumplings and my shepard's pie.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making cinnamon rolls early Christmas morning.
My cooking triumphs
I like to invent. I will grab a bunch of random things, figure out what works well together. Sometimes my husband's favorite things i cook, are the ones i just made up.
My cooking tragedies
I made a french toast puff in the oven, it was all puffy and beautiful. When i tried to take it out with a spatula, it popped, deflated, and all stuck to the bottom of the pan. HAHA didn't turn out too well.

No-Mayonnaise Ranch Dressing
I didn't care for this. Neither did my daughter who loves ranch. It was bland and was missing something BIG. It tasted a lot like watered down sour cream with a bit of spice. I followed others advice afterwards to try to doctor it up. Still wasn't good.

Old Fashioned Apple Dumplings
This was not good at all. It was way too sweet, my daughter wouldn't even eat it. I only baked it for 45 minutes, and it looked like all my apples exploded. When we tried to eat this, the apples were mush -think chunky applesauce. and the only edible crust was the very top, and it wasn't that great. Everything else that the "sauce" touched was an unbaked gooey mess.

Brennan's Irish Soda Bread
This is the real deal!! I made this with lamb stew. I originally had a box mix that I made. I had a funny feeling I should make another, just in case. So glad I did. The box mix was, quite frankly, . It tasted awful. This is so easy anyway, its a waste of money to buy a mix for flour, baking soda, salt and sugar... This was delicious. Tasted just like what my grandmother used to make, and she was Irish through and through. Only changes I made were to reduce bake time to 30 minutes and brush butter on the top at the last 5 minutes.
