I made this as a side with Christmas dinner so the kids would have something to eat and I think the adults enjoyed it even more! I give it 4 stars as rated because of the changes I made according to reviews. I doubled the macaroni and cheddar cheese, yet kept the same amount of milk, buter and flour and it came out perfect. The Parmesan and paprika sprinkled on top really made it out of this world, and I also added a heaping tablespoon of Dijon mustard (as all other mac and cheese recipes i've loved have always used mustard). This ones going in my recipe book!

I have to admit that I modified the recipe a bit based on other reviews- I used fresh mushrooms instead of canned, 1/2 cup red wine instead of white, and just half the sour cream with the addition of 4 ounces of cream cheese. I did use sliced top round steak and it came out very tender. The aroma in the house while this was cooking all day made everyone hungry- even my daughter and I who don't particularly care for beef! Definitely would recommend.

I made this for dinner last night- and for the ease of preparing, you could not expect a better result! The sauce was so yummy! The only addition I made was to season my turkey cutlets with a bit of salt and pepper before cooking in the pan, and then added them back into sauce for a minute before serving. Will definitely make this one again.
