Sweet Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2015
I'm glad I found this recipe. It was delicious. My Littles ate every bite. After adding the egg, I let the sugar mixture cook to caramelize slightly before adding the milk (which I suggest warming a bit). I added a teaspoon of cinnamon at the end. I won't be able to make this recipe on a busy morning, but I could reheat it after making it over the weekend.

Simple Whole Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2014
I have made this chicken several times and I love it. I double the spice mixture. Then I cut out the spine of the chicken and lay it in the pan, breast down. Then I rub the spices under the skin of the bird. Drizzle olive oil on top (the inside cavity that is now face up). Roast it at 450 degrees for 20 min, then 425 for 15 min, 400 for 15 min until done. Crazy temp, I know but it ALWAYS comes out so tender and juicy.

Pasta Carbonara I

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2014
I happened to have some ham and chicken in the fridge. I diced those up with the thick sliced bacon. I didnt have fettucini, so i used Penne. Made it easier for the littles to get in their mouths. Very easy to make, delicious & packed with protein. I have 4 kids that need the added nutrition. Five stars from everyone in the family.

Chinese Broccoli Slaw

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2010
I want to share a summer version a friend gave me. Using the Brobboli slaw mix and green onion, add sunflower seeds and the raw crushed noodles. Instead of using the oriental flavor soup, use the beef flavor ramen instead. I haven't made it with soy sauce. This dish does well at picnics compared to salads.

I followed recipe however added crunchy broken Ramen Noodles to it. The noodles soak up the dressing and make it yummy.

Creamy Butternut Squash With Cinnamon Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I've used this recipe for over a year now. I get many compliments. I'm not a cayenne pepper fan, but it works very well with this recipe.

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
Great recipe. I only had one can of the biscuits so I used that w/ a 9-in cake pan. Enough for a side dish. Baked it about 20 min. I will definitely make again.

Chicken and Dumplings IV

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2007
I made some shortcuts and it turned out delicious anyway. Sauteed onions and celery in butter then I added a Rotisserie chicken from the grocery store, shredded. Chicken stock from the carton and handfuls of frozen veggie mix. I used the cornstarch instead of the flour mixture and it thickened nicely. I did add milk to make it "creamy". The kids enjoyed helping w/ the dumplings and dropping them in the pot. Will keep in my recipe box.

West Coast Cod and Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2006
I very much enjoyed this dish. I didn't have any fresh mushrooms so I had to leave that out, however I didn't miss them in the end. I, too, used dried dill and added a pinch of dried tarragon. I happened to have some jasmine rice in the freezer and that's what I served it with. I does yeild alot of sauce, I'm going to try serving it on pastry shells tonight.

Easy Bacon and Cheese Quiche

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2003
Will definitely make again. Great recipe to use as a jumping off point. Instead of the swiss parmesean combo I did the Kraft Mexican cheese blend that includes 4 different cheeses. I didn't have a 9 in-DEEP DISH pie crust so I used a folded Pillsbury crust (thawed) in my Deep Dish stone baker. Baked at 375 for 45 min. My dh was very pleased, which is tough!

A wonderful alternative to alcoholic beverages and coffee. Easy to prepare and it made my house smell wonderful. Will be fixing it next time I have a gathering in the winter for sure.

Hash Brown Casserole I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2002
I really tasted the tabasco in this so those who don't like spicy may not like it. I however thought it was easy to prepare and tasted great. I will fix it again.
