Lentil Soup with Lemon

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2012
hello my new favourite soup! very tasty, flavours work so well together. I decided to blend the whole thing (not a chunky soup kinda girl!) and left out the cilantro. yummy, worthy of 5 stars!

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2012
This recipe never fails. I didn't have any lemon pepper and was not in the mood to drive to the grocery store to pick some up, so I left it out. I also used garlic salt instead of powder and left out the regular salt. Extremely tasty... don't be afraid of this recipe! This salmon marinade is perfect and pleasing for all taste buds!

Creamy Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2012
a nice, easy and delicious meal! I used beef broth instead of consomme (picked up the wrong one by accident!), I added a small can of mushrooms and I added garlic + onions (white parts of green onion only) with the ground beef. The mustard really came through with this recipe, so I wouldn't add any more than 1 tablespoon. simply and yummy!

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2012
I used this as for my first time making cabbage rolls and it was just delicious! I did change a few things: - doubled the sauce, - added 1/2 tsp of garlic powder and 1/2 tsp onion powder to the ground beef - baked in a casserole dish, covered with aluminum foil, for 1 hour in a 350 degree oven. Tearing off the cabbage leaves was the hardest part I think, but a definite keeper recipe, thanks!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
My boyfriend says this chicken pot pie was one of the best things I've ever made for him. No other recipe compares. Here are my adjustments: I cook the bottom crust in the preheated oven for 5 minutes until lightly golden. Then I boil the veggies in the chicken broth for 15 minutes. I then put the veggies in the bottom pie crust & use that same broth for the roux. I also added in more chicken broth and milk to make it more creamy, as well as 1 tsp garlic powder, 1tsp onion powder and 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning for extra flavour. I also took out the celery and added in about 1/2 cup of diced potatoes and 1/2 cup corn. A keeper recipe for sure and will definitely make again, thanks!

Asparagus Quiche

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2011
I've eaten quiche plenty of times before but I've never made it myself. After making this asparagus quiche I realized I just made the best quiche I've ever had! sooo good, but I did make minor adjustments. It's only my boyfriend and I so I cut the recipe in half. I also took each asparagus and lightly peeled it with a vegetable peeler (time consuming but well worth it - about 1/2lb asparagus). Then I cooked up SIX strips of bacon, removed/drained/chopped up, adding the 1/2inch asparagus pieces to the bacon grease with 1 garlic clove and 1 pearl onion minced up - lightly sauteed. I also used 3 XL eggs to go with the 3/4 half-half cream. 35 minutes exactly to cook....and now i can't stop eating it!! This recipe is an absolute keeper, thanks :)

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2012
Name says it all! It really is DELICIOUS. I only wish it was a little thicker, but it was yummy either way. I followed the recipe exactly, the only changes I made was I added some frozen peaches 'n cream corn to the soup. Will make again!

Maple-Garlic Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2012
Although I didn't actually get to try this dish that I made, my boyfriend just seemed to love it! I added extra garlic and 1 tbsp of soy sauce. I baked it in the oven at 375F for 45 minutes, instead of on the grill. The man was hungry so I only got to marinate it for a few hours :)

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2012
This is the best cinnamon roll recipe on allrecipes.com! Use the whole pack of vanilla pudding mix and bake for a full 20 minutes. I took mine out at 15, iced them, and then realized they could have used an extra 5 minutes. These cinnamon rolls are ridiculously yummy! Will make again and again!

Creamiest Rice Pudding

yummy! I used arborio rice, an extra 1/3 cup of sugar, and added a cap-full of rose water (which I found in a middle eastern store). Will make again, thank you!

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2013
This recipe is 100% a keeper in my books. It is absolutely delicious. I soaked the quinoa for 10 minutes before adding to the pan, I used chicken broth instead of vegetable broth, pure chipotle powder instead of cayenne, 1 can of black beans only, and peaches 'n cream corn instead of the basic kernels (the sweetness of the corn was a perfect addition). All the flavours together worked beautifully. I'm so glad I made a huge batch for just me...because I will be eating this for the next few days!

This recipe is perfect! The lime really tightens up all the flavours and the cilantro really was a key ingredient here...recipe wouldn't have been the same without it!

Irresistible Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2011
YUM! i must add that I did not use the pie crust recipe provided. instead, i used a prepared pie crust that i found at the local grocery store. few changes: i used about 2 cups of chopped pecans, and only a few whole pecans just to decorate the top. i didn't see the need for the extra finely chopped pecans. I also used 2 tablespoons of maple syrup instead of dark corn syrup. I added 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and a pinch of cinnamon. Delicious! (i even think this pecan pie isa lot better than some of the pecan pies on this site with higher ratings!)

Glazed Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
Delicious! Like other reviewers, I used 1 cup of bread crumbs instead of bread slices. When it came time to putting on the ketchup mixture for the last 10 minutes, I upped the time to about 15-17 mins just because I preferred the glaze to be a bit more caramelized :) Overall, tonight's dinner turned out great because of this recipe...thanks!
