About this Cook
I love to cook and especially enjoy trying new recipes. I watch the Food Network every weekend looking for shortcuts, new recipes, techniques, etc. I love your site as I can usally find a recipe for any ingredient I may have on hand.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make soups and stews. Homemade chicken noodle is still my favorite. I have branched out to include chicken tortilla and brocolli cheese soups as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Preparing a breakfast casserole Christmas Eve and having an easy Christmas breakfast has been a tradition of ours for over 20 years. Orange juice, fresh coffee, bagels with cream cheese and fruit are always on the table every December 25th morning. I can't wait until I have grandchildren to share this tradition with each year.
My cooking triumphs
I have always been the only one to fix the holiday dinners for my family. I was so proud that first Thanksgiving when everything turned out great and it was all up to me.
My cooking tragedies
When I was first married I made a Szechwan shrimp dish that was served over rice. I love spicy food so I figured I'd add more than the recipe called for because it didn't seem spicy enough. My poor husband nearly choked on the "hot" shrimp and I couldn't even finish one bite.

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork
Excellent pulled pork recipe. Delicious and easy to create. We are on our second batch to serve for tomorrow's game.

Berry Shooters
Fun recipe. If you have a store like Smart and Final in your area, pick up the little plastic cups used for cheese with pretzels. Easy to fill, just the right size for a "shot" and they line up easily on a cookie sheet to set in the refigerator. Learned this from a mom at Little League.

Casa Marina
What a great recipe. We are sitting here in sunny CA watching the Super Bowl. Made a bowl of this as suggested and it is disappearing fast. Cranberry juice is a must. Thanks for the recipe.
