My favorite things to cook
I love to use the slow cooker and also make canned jam, jelly, and salsa!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every OU/Texas Saturday, my family has had a big family party where we make chili and have other party foods. with the addition of birthday pie, we also celebrate my birthday which is always around that time.
My cooking triumphs
Last year, I won 4 second place ribbons at the county fair in the jam and jelly competition....it was my very first year to enter.
My cooking tragedies
Well.....that's almost every day. I'm a pretty bad day to day cook.

Spinach and Mandarin Orange Salad
This recipe is great! It is very retro with the warm dressing but the combo of butter, sugar, and vinegar is delectable! I did not use slivered almonds because I had toasted pecans and that were fabulous. I recommend this for everyone!

Fat Sam's Meaty Melted Man Dip - Is It Football Season, Yet???
I made this dip exactly as written and it is delicious! You can find a tutorial of what to do and what my family thought of the dip on my blog: www (dot) KellisKitchen (dot) org. You should make this soon - it's great for watching a sports event or just watching TV. A tailgating staple!

Scrambled Eggs Done Right
I saw recipe by email this morning just as I was about to go scramble some eggs so I tried it. I was a bit skeptical about the mayo thinking the eggs would be greasy and not rich without the milk or half and half. But I was wrong! They are great, no funny taste and the entire family loves it. Of course I added cheese at the end and some hot sauce after I put them on my plate but that's just normal for me.
