Slow Cooker Spare Ribs

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2012
My husband and I enjoyed this for dinner tonight. I used about half an onion and didn't bother boiling the ribs first but followed the rest of the recipe as written. I cooked for 6 1/2 hours on low and that was perfect for us. Someone posted on another recipe that you can put the crock pot lid on top of paper towels to keep the sauce from getting too thin (the paper towels absorb excess moisture). I tried it tonight and it really seemed to work. No need to thicken the sauce. I am not a tomato soup fan but I thought this sauce was excellent on the ribs.

Fish In A Vegetable Patch

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2012
I used tilapia since that is what I had on hand and used jar marinara sauce for the tomato sauce. I didn't measure ingredients but I know I did not use as much salt as recipe calls for and it was plenty salty. Hubby rated it 4 but asked for seconds. I give it a 5 ... it can't get any easier to make and it is low calorie and tastes fantastic.

Beer Chops I

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2012
I used a half bottle of Yuengling. My son said to rate it a 6 out of 5. My husband and I weren't as impressed but thought it was okay. If I make it again, I will definitely add seasonings but wanted to follow the recipe the first time I made it.

Marzetti® Ultimate Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2012
My husband and I thought this was fabulous. I didn't use the tablespoon of oil to saute the veggies, I just added a small amount of chicken broth along with additional salt, pepper and paprika. I chose the red onions over the shallots. This recipe looks amazing and tastes amazing. I will definitely be making this again.

We found that it definitely needed salt, otherwise it turned out pretty good.

Meatball Noodle Onion Stoup

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2012
I needed a quick dinner tonight. My husband wasn't impressed with this so I won't be making it again. I liked it more than hubby did.

Brunzie's Baseball Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2012
I bought a few cans of chicken noodle soup when I had the flu a few weeks ago and searched for something to make with the cans I didn't use. This was super simple and very good. Next time I may add a little cheese on top.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2012
I didn't bother measuring the ingredients, I just estimated. The chicken was so tender and juicy. I had a small bird, so only cooked for 4 hours.

Havana Slow Cooker Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2012
My husband and I absolutely loved this dish. I cut down on the amount of red pepper as I don't like things too spicy and used Sunny D (all I had) in place of the OJ. One of my favorite dinners that we have had in a while!

Fruity Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
I used rotisserie chicken, red grapes, dark raisins and regular mayo. After it sits in the fridge for a few hours I always add a little more mayo. I always add salt too, it seems to enhance all of the other flavors. I can't stop eating this chicken salad!!

Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2012
My husband and I enjoyed this for dinner tonight. I followed the recipe without making any changes and it works great. If I make it again, I will probably reduce the amount of french dressing and increase the salsa for my own taste.

The whole family liked this. My son said to rate it 4.5 stars. I used the whole package of ranch dressing mix and cooked without the foil.

Mexican Baked Fish

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
I used tilapia since I already had some in the freezer. I used mild salsa and the packaged shredded Mexican blend cheese since that is what I had on hand. No need to measure ingredients. I didn't use the avocado slices and sour cream since I am not a fan of either. I love this fish dish. My husband wasn't keen on the fritos so when I make it again, I will leave the corn chips off of his fillet.

Hamburger Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2012
I mixed the soup, salt, pepper, and milk in with the drained, browned ground beef and onions in the skillet so didn't need to dirty a mixing bowl. I followed the list of ingredients but next time will add more seasonings as others suggested. I covered with foil until I added the cheese. I also like the suggestion of mixing additional cheese in with the casserole as well as on top.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

I used a lite soy sauce, doubled the sauce and didn't cook as long as recipe states. Very yummy. Hubby liked but would prefer on boneless chicken. Will definitely try again!

Marinade for Steak I

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2012
Pretty good marinade. I grilled the onions along with the steaks. I liked the onions better than the steak (5 stars for the onions). I scaled it down to 6 servings for 2 fillets and it was the perfect amount. I actually estimated the amount of the ingredients rather than measuring and it worked fine.

Turkey a la Matt

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2012
This worked well for leftover turkey breast I had in the freezer. I used a fat free cream of chicken soup and chopped yellow onion in place of the pearl onions. I left out the can of mushrooms because of personal preference. My husband said a biscuit on top would be better than the cracker crumbs and I think he may be right.
