Sweet Potato and Black Bean Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2013
Very good. Robust flavor. I modified the peppery spices a bit and used chili style diced tomatoes. i have never used cornmeal as a thickener before, but I like it and I would certainly try this recipe again.

Chicken Breasts with Lime Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2013
Needed something new to try with chicken breasts. This was great, although I did amend it based on the herbs I had on hand and less butter (thanks to past reviews). My finicky kids loved it. I was shocked how tender the kitchen was and how much the pounding helped. Will make again, perhaps with chives and dill the next time. Loved the lime.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
This was a winner with the fam! We had time to turn the slow cooker to both temps and to make some of the adjustments mentioned in the reviews. The meat was tender and awfully juicy. Can't wait to use it for leftovers as well.

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2012
Can't really eat this if you're on a diet, but it's a great go-to recipe for feeding kids! How can you go wrong with ground beef, tater tots and cheese? And, it's ready in a snap. A guest made this for us once, and I thought I'd give it a try, too. I see a number of ways to spiff it up, but it has a great base.

Just yummy, quick, thick and decadent. Feel like I just came out of a good Italian eatery. I will definitely make this again!

Crescent-Wrapped Brie

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2012
Tried this for the holidays. Wonderful. Just wonderful presentation. My party guests were impressed. Tasted delicious too. But it must be eaten while warm; otherwise you remember just how fat it is. Enjoy.

Chicken Breasts Pierre

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2012
Extremely flavorful dish. My entire family ate it up. Not too tangy as I anticipated it being. Youngest son wasn't too pleased. Will probably prepare again for a change.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2012
Loved it. Just made it, and did a chef's taste. Loved how all of the flavors complemented each other. I used half EVO and half butter. I expect the family to enjoy.

House Fried Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
Not bad, but not great. I find that the best fried rice I make at home starts with the steamed rice I get at the restaurant. It makes perfect fried rice each time.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
Exceptional. This turned out perfects. I didn't mix nuts in it; I crushed a few glazed ones and added the crumbles to the top of the dough before popping it in the oven. Turned out nicely.

Quick and Easy Home Fries

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
Just as the other reviewers have said, these were quick, simple and tasted very good without deep frying. Takes a bit more effort but worth it. Would like to try next without using the butter (and maybe olive oil or something).

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
Nice and fun to eat, but one of my little ones even thought it was a bit too sweet. Would cut out some of the brown sugar on next try, but nice addition to the recipe box.

Cannot believe I haven't rated these yet. Extra delicious and simple. Unbelieveable that I've been buying sausage when I could make it at home this simply. Quite delicious.

I have made this recipe several, several times, always to my guests satisfaction. A great party dish! I never use sugar though; I always use Splenda instead. No one ever complains.

Wow. I'm a believer. This was a fast, what will we have for dinner kind of dish! And it tastes great. I expect the fam to eat it with a grin!

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2010
My pork chops were a little dry, but just a little. I could've used a bit more sauce, too, than was called for in the recipe. I think lowering the temp and cooking longer might've also made them perfect.

Boudreaux's Zydeco Stomp Gumbo

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
Made this two days ago. Hubby and sons (even the one who doesn't like spicy stuff) loved it. Did make more broth than necessary. But no worries. We'll freeze what we don't use. Interesting how the parsley adds a bit of the okra flavor/feel w/o the slime. Thanks for sharing.
