Beer-Baked Irish Beef

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2014
I have made this recipe many times, and it always turns out great. Tonight I made it with Diane's Colcannon recipe, they are great together. I usually save these recipes for St. Patrick's day, but had all the veggies for these in my CSA box this week. I cooked it on high for 2.5 hours today, but have also done it on low for 6-8 hours, both always turn out great.

Diane's Colcannon

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2014
I made this recipe again tonight, it's usually reserved for St. Patrick's day but I had a huge head of cabbage in my CSA box this week. It turned out amazing as always! I used red potatoes and extra bacon. I served it with Beer-Baked Irish Beef Stew (also usually reserved for St. Pat's). I don't always make these two dishes together, but I should. They are amazing together.

Harvest Pumpkin Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
I have made these about 6 times now. The ingredients for them just happen to appear on my table every couple weeks, my hubby says he has no idea where the stuff comes from. I am terrible at making frosting, so I always just use a can of whipped cream cheese frosting. Also the last time I made them, I only had bread flour in the house, I gave it a whirl, and they just turned out like moist delicious muffins. Everyone I have ever given these cupcakes to has loved them, especially the kids.

Cheddar Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
I loved this salad! I didn't change any of the ingredients like many of the other reviewers (IMO if you change the recipe you shouldn't really review it). I mixed the mayo, sugar and cider vinegar, and let it sit while I cut the broccoli, bacon, and onion. By the time I was done chopping, the sugar was dissolved. I only refrigerated for about an hour before I dug in and it was still amazing.

Country White Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
This was my first attempt at making bread, and it turned out great! I was very happy with the results. I hadn't used yeast since we made pretzels in 8th grade home-ec class, so I was shocked that it actually worked on the first try. The bread was perfect, not too sweet as some other reviewers thought. I made a huge pot of pork chili to go with the bread and they were amazing together.
