About this Cook
I am a retired grandmother who enjoys cooking very much for my family - or any one else's family. I am currently teaching my grandchildren to cook.
My favorite things to cook
Any holiday or special dinner - for 2 or for a crowd. Love entertaining. Also like to try new 5-star recipes I find on this site. First following the recipe exactly, then sometimes making a few alterations!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Large sit-down dinners with all the fine china, etc. My granddaughter will carry this tradition on. In fact this year, 2006, I passed all my china and crystal to her"chldren" decided I should sell my home of 40 yrs and move to an apartment - nit bad...........................
My cooking triumphs
There have been a few - surprised me too!
My cooking tragedies
First Thanksgiving dinner leaving the little bag of turkey innards inside. Mother in law sliced the turkey and found my mistake! Decided that day to become a great cook as she was herself.

Honey Glazed Pork Tenderloin
Great! I tried sliced baked sweet potatoes just laid along side the tenderloin about half way done and spread a little maple syrup over those - the aroma alone is worth 5 stars. The meal was a hit.

Baked Corn
This is wonderful. My chef in training (14 y/o grandson) had to cook a dish for a baseball team party - supposed to be a joke, but I gave him this recipe and his friends and their parents loved it! iT was a barbecue and I passed out copies of this recipe to the parents. He promises to support me in my old age with his major league baseball salary!
