Black Bean Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2011
WOW i'm impressed!! couldn't taste the beans at all. changes i made: used 1/2 cup of cocoa powder added half tsp more vanilla added half tsp more coffee added 3 packets of splenda blended the chocolate chips right in with the rest of the batter. this was DELICIOUS. only difference between these and 'regular' brownies is that they do taste a bit less sinful.. like they are less moist. i may add applesauce and some more chocolate chips to fix that next time. this recipe is a keeper!

Banana Wake-Up Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
simple, cheap, healthy, tasty! i soaked the oats for a couple hours in warm water beforehand, because the first time i made this, the oats were still somewhat dry/uncooked. i also added some dried berries i had in the pantry (raisins, blueberries, cranberries) they really made a difference. without the dried fruit, i'd imagine this to be a bit bland. also replaced the butter with applesauce. much more moist. and i didn't have wheat germ so i left that out.

Grammie's Sweet Milk Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
soft, milky, melt-in-your-mouth cookies! smells amazing, and actually tastes and smells like milk! instead of the soda/tartar, i just used 1.5 teaspoon of baking powder. i left out the nutmeg and used a mixture of butter and margarine instead of shortening (just because i didn't have shortening) i also added a tiny bit of vanilla extract. these are the only cookies i've ever baked where people asked over and over for the recipe. i actually had to print the recipe and hand it out!
