Black Bean and Salsa Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2012
This soup is wonderful, simple, easy, cheap and healthy! Everyone in my family loved it, including kids, teens and adults. My husband likes a kick so we added fresh chopped jalapeno and some sliced avacado to his.

Big Germans

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2011
My kids loved this version, especially with the lemon juice and sugar. I did the recipe x 1.5 and used a 9x13 pyrex and an 8x8 pyrex. They fit well.

German Pancakes II

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
This was wonderful! My family loved it. I used 100% whole wheat flour but did everything else the same. I doubled the recipe in two cake pans. It came out perfect.

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
These are wonderful! My kids ate them up. I liked them just as is but they really liked them when I sprinkled some parmesan cheese on top. Either way they are delicious and super healthy.

Chocolate Chip Meringue

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
These are wonderful! I made the recipe as it was written and everyone loved them. One tip I found is helpful is to use the convection setting on the oven (if you have that option). It makes them cook a little faster and keeps them nice and crispy. I still cooked them longer (about 45 mins). Thanks for the recipe!

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2004
We changed the technique a little. Instead of cooking the pork chops in a skillet we grilled them and cooked the apple-carmel mixture separately then combined them at the end. They came out great! It is a very nice combonation of tastes. My kids loved it too.

We liked this recipe. It was very easy and fed alot of people! I used 3parts sour cream to 1 part mayo. It worked well. I also put the bacon bits inside and on top.

Bev's Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2004
This recipe was wonderful! It was soooo easy and I almost always have all the ingredients in my pantry. I used bone in chicken thighs and cooked it a little longer and lowered the temp for the last part. I just prefer the thighs really well done and tender. It was so good even my kids loved it.

Hawaiian Waffles with Pineapple and Coconut

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2004
My family loved this recipe! They were different and really delicious. We used canned pineapple and that worked just as well. I would definitely suggest trying these if you like the combonation of pineapple and coconut.

Barbequed Marinated Flank Steak

This is a very good easy marinade. I did use fresh garlic instead of powder and I think it helped it alot.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2003
I really loved this recipe and so did my whole family. It was super easy and tasted delicious! I didn't care for the dried rosemary so next time I will leave it out. It was too twiggy as someone else mentioned. Fresh herbs would be great too if you have them around.

Lemon Dijon Wings

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2003
This recipe was great! My husband, my 5 year old and my one year old all loved it. The marinade came out pretty thick for me so I couldn't really use it to baste during grilling but it was still perfect. I did cut back on the pepper and salt since they seemed to be a little much. What a nice change from BBQ sauce!

Blackberry BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2003
This sauce was excellent! My husband made it and changed the recipe a little. We skipped the brown sugar, increased the vinegar and added worcestershire sauce. This cut the sweetness a little bit. It was soooo delicious! Thanks for the recipe.

Herbed Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2003
This was very good. I liked the lemon taste with the turkey. My turkey breast came out undercooked but it could be my old oven.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2003
Both my husband and I agree that this was the best quiche we have ever had!! The flavor was soooo wonderful. I used a homemade crust which I think makes a big difference. I even found the garlic herb feta. What a great recipe Bailey, thanks!

Shrimp Scampi V

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2003
This was absolutely wonderful! I used a combonation of butter and olive oil and half wine half chicken broth. I increased the amounts on everything since I had extra shrimp around. Because of that I needed to thicken it a bit at the end with arrowroot flour. Everyone loved it. Actually, even my son who had never liked shrimp loved it! Thanks for the recipe Robin.

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2003
This soup was so good. My husband loved it too. It was however, very rich. I used some leftover marscapone cheese and heavy cream (about half of what the recipe calls for in cream cheese). It turned out very well. I think I will use cream cheese next time but definitely only 8oz. Even without adding cream the soup was great...a more healthy option if you are looking for a lowfat recipe.

Classic Tiramisu

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2003
This recipe is so good! I used more of the coffee liquor then it called for and less of the ladyfingers. It came out just perfect! I would suggest this recipe to anyone who loves tiramisu!
