I'm a stay at home mother who enjoys making comfort food for my family. sitting together at the family dinner table is very important to me.
My favorite things to cook
Lo Mien, Pork fried rice, Roast chicken, Pork-chops and stuffing, Egg bakes for brunch, Home made pizza and Chicken pot pies!
My favorite family cooking traditions
every Christmas eve we make a variety of appetizers for our family to eat when we get home from the Christmas evening church service. everyone picks one or two they like and we all work together to create the various dips, wings, etc. My favorite is baked Brie in puffed pastry with caramelized garlic, walnuts and honey.....mmmmmmm!
My cooking tragedies
accidentally hitting the clean oven button on my new oven, locking two pans of baked enchiladas in there. My son brilliantly thought of turning off the power for the oven at the breaker box.....which allowed the oven to reset and unlock. we had some very blackened crispy enchiladas.

Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms II
Prepared them for a holiday appetizer buffet....only two mushrooms were eaten. Not what I hoped for, really disappointed.

Classic Macaroni Salad
I enjoyed this easy recipe for a Mac salad that was so tasty. I used salad dressing (the white creamy, "whipped" kind) as half of the mayo to get that extra tangy flavor I remember from my grandma's recipe. I skipped the celery, and added a couple of hard boiled eggs. Even after a couple of days in the refrigerator it was delicious! Will make it again and again, great with a burger and fresh fruit for a summer dinner!

Classic Tiramisu
I made this Tiramisu as a sweet treat after an evening of appetizers. At the end of the night, I do believe someone had licked the serving bowl clean. The only thing I did different was to add a shot of espresso to the Coffee liquor to give the lady fingers a wonderful rich deep coffee flavor. I used soft ladyfingers and gave the a hick dip in the espresso-liquor mixture so they had more of the sweet coffee flavor than I would have gotten from brushing them. It was the best Tiramisu recipe I have found!
