Crusty French Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2012
this will now be my go-to french bread recipe when im having soups or spaghetti... or spinach dip! the crust is light and crusty, the inside soft and fluffy. i agree with Miki, it was a tad sweet for my tastes, and i DID make one change, using one cup AP flour and one cup bread flour, with the additional flour added in being AP. Next time ill cut back on the sugar, and possibly refrigerate the dough for a day or two to develope a more 'sour' flavor. But alas, this recipe DEFINATELY made my most beautiful looking loaf that i have baked to date. Thanks for posting!

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
FRICKIN DELISCIOUS!!!! I needed an excuse to use me new mandoline my daughter and boyfriend got me for mothers day., so i grabbed 3 potatoes and an onion and went at it! i added about 1/2 cup of sour cream and a little water to thin the soup out i didnt 'layer' the potatoes withthe soup, just dumped the mix ontop. i DID toss my potatoes with season all salt. just tossed the potatoes n onion till they were well mixed, threw em in a casserole, dumped the soup mix over the top, coverd, and baked for an hour on 400. They turned out PERFECT!!!!

Peanut Butter, Mayonnaise, and Lettuce Sandwich

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
OMG!!!! I thought my daughter was absolutly CRAZY this morning when she told me about this: it was 7:30 am, and I was making Cam (my daughter a PB&J for her lunch. She walks into the kitchen and tells me that Grammie, (my mom) taught her to make sandwiches like Papa Wayne made them, with peanut butter and SALAD.... she said that Papa Wayne taught Grammie and Aunt Cindy and Aunt Julie to make sandwiches this way: "spread the peanut butter on the lettuce and put in on bread". I was pretty sure she was thinking of celery and peanut butter, so i dismissed it as her being imaginative.... UNTIL I ASkED MY MOM!!!!! apparently, My Papa used to make this all the time for my mom and aunts.... who knew!!!! My daughter loves it, and after trying it, i must say, its quite tasty!!!
