My sons LOVE sausage balls. When they were younger, I would make double or triple batches on the weekends, put them in ziplock bags & put in the freezer. It was so easy to grab a few out of the freezer, wrap them in a paper towel & microwave for them to eat in the car on the way to school or babysitter. During their teenage years, our house seemed to be overflowing with teenage boys all the time. And teenage boys are always hungry! I came up with the idea of combining sausage balls and pepperoni pizza together.  These quickly became a favorite of my sons and their friends. They are also great appetizers for a party or cookout. I can never make enough.

2 lbs ground beef OR 1 lb ground beef & 1 lb sausage

4 cups Bisquick

1 pkg Lipton Savory Herb & Garlic Soup mix

1 cup marinara sauce

1/2 pkg Hormel pepperoni (chopped)

12 oz shredded Italian cheese

a few sprinkles of grated parmesan cheese

Place all ingredients in a large bowl and mix together thoroughly using your hands. Roll into golf ball size balls and bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown. The bigger the balls, the longer they need to cook. If your balls are smaller, they won't need to cook as long.

NOTE:  The ground beef and sausage can be replaced with ground turkey and turkey sausage.

Your pizza balls sound great. Is your Italian cheese mozzarella cheese?

I'm excited because this sounds like something my son would love! Thanks for sharing.

Lela, I use Kraft shredded Italian cheese. It is a blend of mozzarella, parmesan & provolone, I think. But you could use your favorite Italian cheese. iceemama, I haven't met a boy yet that doesn't like them. ha ha! Let me know. :)

This sounds fun. About how many do you make with one recipe. Thanks.

Happyfood, I've never counted how many, but I end up with a jelly roll pan and regular size cookie sheet full. I hope that helps. If the boys are home, they are grabbing the first batch faster than I can get them out of the oven.

I have never heard of the "Lipton Savory Herb & Garlic Soup mix", I may need to try it I love soup. As a matter of fact I am currently ordering in order all the soups from my local Asian restaurant for lunch when I am at work. I have like 4 more to try. I may also need to make a cheese filled pizza meatball.
