I am a stay at home Mum to two children. I work part time from home for a farm that offers a fabulous Community Supported Agriculture program and have my diploma in the Culinary Arts...so it's safe to say that I love food and everything to do with it!!
My favorite things to cook
Lately I have been doing lots of canning to preserve all the delicious organic produce from my CSA box, but I love to cook Indian and Mexican food as my Husband and children love foods from these countries! Otherwise I enjoy using my slow cooker in the winter months.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is British and although they aren't know for their culinary prowess, I do enjoy my mother's cottage pie and Cornish pasties...not to mention clotted cream on scones with fresh preserves!!!
My cooking triumphs
Not to toot my own horn, but I haven't had too many tragedies - I did a beautiful crown pork roast with an apricot brandy glaze and stuffing that was fantastic once and I am always complimented on my various salads and soups.
My cooking tragedies
I have learned that the jalapenos that I get from the farm are MUCH hotter than the ones in the grocery store! Last year I was making "Salsa Verde" with the tomatillos and jalapenos from my CSA box and added the correct amount, but it was incredibly hot!! I just mixed it with another batch that had less jalapenos and it was much more palatable!!!
