I used an 8 lb. pork butt, 1/2 2-liter A&W root beer, 1/2 Lg vidalia onion, 2 peeled garlic cloves, 2 Tbs worcestershire sauce, 2 Tbs Stubb's liquid smoke hickory flavor, 2 Tbs McCormick's barbecue seasoning, 2 Tbs Lawry's season salt, 8 turns fresh black pepper. 1 bottle Stubb's Original BBQ sauce, 1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray's Original BBQ sauce. I cooked the pork in a 6 Qt crock pot on low for 11 hours. Took pork out to shred and debone ( I didn't have any fat to remove at all just a bone). Strained the marinade of onions and placed into a saucepan to reduce by half. Added pork back to crockpot and then added the marinade reduction, 1 bottle of Stubb's Original BBQ sauce and 1 bottle of Sweet Baby Rays Original BBQ sauce. Cooked for another hour on low. Everyone LOVED it. Didn't taste like rootbeer when I tasted it before adding the BBQ sauce either.
