About this Cook
I am a mother of 2, married to a man who was a cook at a popular seafood rest. for 8 years. Busy mom, full time stressfull job & a hungry family :)
My favorite things to cook
Anything & everything. Love finding new ways to make different ingredients shine
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking with my family-be it my mom or my husband or teaching my 2 kids-4 yo daughter & 2 yo son, how to measure, stir, fold, bake etc. Cooking is passion & love and those are essential ingredients in family as well
My cooking triumphs
Great Grandma's Gravy-it took my mom 3 years of teaching me my Great grandmothers gravy & 3 years on my own to perfect it. Now my mom says it's better than hers & we all eat hers by the spoonful so that is and always will be my greatest culinary accomplishment ever! So now it's my turn to pass Great Great Grandmas Gravy onto my daughter when she's old enough
My cooking tragedies
During my pregnancies my taste buds were so "off" I was overseasoning EVERYTHING! My husband couldn't even choke down a few dinners & here I was hormonal & hungry & humiliated (he's a cook)- not a good combination!

Best Spinach Dip Ever
I have been making this spinach dip for years...except we use the Knorr Vegetable Soup mix, not Leek soup mix. Make sure you use Best Foods' mayo, and chop your water chestnuts up (drained of course) and let it sit for a couple hours!!! It has to have time for the dry mix to rehydrate & flavors to meld. It is always a hit
