Triple Berry Crisp

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2011
This was awesome! I only had blackberries (and lots of them!), so I made it just with those. I also melted the butter to make mixing easier, and left out the nutmeg because I'm not a fan. Everyone loved it!

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Reviewed: May 1, 2011
I made this for dinner tonight, and it was great! I didn't make the gravy so I'm rating just the steak. The only changes I made were to add a little more seasoning to the flour, and I fried in the butter/oil combo that others have suggested, since I've never used lard and didn't want to make a trip to the store just for that. We LOVED it - will definitely be in the regular rotation.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
This was a HUGE hit in my house! It was my first attempt at salisbury steak and everyone loved it! My 15 year old had seconds and made me promise to save the leftovers for him tomorrow. I added a jar of sliced mushrooms and used cream of mushroom soup. I goofed and forgot to buy au jus mix, so I used beef broth and added beef bouillon granules for some color. It was great, thanks Tesslynn! Edited 3/29/12 - I've made this SO many times now, and my boyfriend asked for it tonight for his birthday dinner. A HUGE hit in my house, and super easy to make. Thanks again!!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
I make this at least once a month (tonight included), and it's gobbled up every time! I use chicken broth or stock (whichever I have on hand) instead of water, and cream of mushroom soup. I shred the chicken once it's cooked through, and add sliced carrots to the crock pot at that point. I also add seasoning as I go, because it would be a bit bland otherwise. Great recipe and easy to tweak!

No Bake Cookies I

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
This is my favorite recipe for no bake cookies. My only change is that I use creamy peanut butter instead of chunky, because that's all we keep in the house. YUM!

Honey Nut Granola

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
This was a really good recipe that's easy to customize to your personal tastes. I added peanut butter based on other suggestions, and changed around my nut/seed combinations to what my family enjoys. With some extra honey and brown sugar it stays chewy and you can keep it in larger chunks for snacking or easily break it up to sprinkle over greek yogurt (my favorite way to eat it). YUM!

Passion Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
Wow, these are awesome! I made them tonight for the first time and everyone loved them! The only change I made was to use milk chocolate chips instead of semisweet (personal preference). They're very rich so go easy on the size of the bars cut, and they're oh so good! Thanks Sue!!

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
This was great! I don't care for cooking with wine/sherry much (just a taste preference) so I used chicken stock for most of the liquid with a generous pour of Marsala. I also cut my chicken into bite sized pieces before coating and cooking. The last change was that I used close to 3 cups of mushrooms, sliced baby bellas and sliced button. Followed the rest of the recipe otherwise. My sometimes picky kids loved it! Thanks!

Cheese and Bacon Potato Rounds

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
I made these for movie night snacks. I took the easy route with the bacon and used packaged real bacon pieces (I hate cooking bacon). Awesome, I can't believe I never thought to do this before. Thanks Michele!
