About this Cook
I like to cook for my grown kids, my sweetheart and her son. I make simple things. My competition is the OTHER foods my loved ones would eat. I almost CAN'T go wrong! In fact the Ceasar dressing I made for lunch today got many compliments!!
My favorite things to cook
Slow cooker meals, BBQ and new recipes all the time!
My favorite family cooking traditions
No there there. I'm first generation when it comes to cooking.
My cooking triumphs
My special mashed potatoes, baby back rib sauce, brussels sprouts with bacon and capers, and many more!
My cooking tragedies
Too numerous to count. Like the time I put rock salt in the birthday cake and is did not dissolve--twice. I did not learn the first time!!

Todd's Famous Blueberry Pancakes
Good recipe. I have made buttermilk blueberry pancakes so many times over the years I have the recipe imprinted on my brain. The biggest difference in my recipe is to substitute fresh buttermilk for MOST of the regular milk, then actually INSERT the blueberrys in the batter as it's cooking on the griddle--before you turn them. I also use a little more baking powder than soda, and add some melted butter to the batter. Good flavor. Be careful though, the blueberry's get pretty hot and can burn if the get chomped on immediately.

Ingrid's Caesar Salad Dressing
Just made for my sweetie and two 10 year old boys. BC crumbles instead of dressing. They LOVED it--all had 2nds. One kid tried the bottled dressing first and switched. Would add anchovie paste next time. Yummy!!

Chicken, Avocado and Mango Salad
I don't know how they make chili garlic sauce where you live but in Safeway Sacramento its pretty dam hot. I like habernero on just about everything, but this was too much. My gal would not eat it. So cut back on the hot stuff if you want some affection.
