Copper Carrots

Very good! Everyone enjoyed these carrots. We had them with ham and the carrot glaze was delicious on the ham as well!

Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
I have been using this recipe for years, it's in the Betty Crocker Cooky Book, but you make them into thumbprint cookies and add a drop of jelly in to the center after they come out the oven. They are rich so I make them small and yield more!

Seven Layer Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
Very good! I took it to a party and it was a hit. I added sour cream to the dressing to cut the heaviness of the mayo. Next time I'm going to split the ingredients in half and do two sets of layers. Everyone was scraping from the top and only getting "the good stuff", so I was left with lots of lettuce and some peas.

Pork Chops with Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
DELICIOUS! I am not a big fan of pork chops and was very pleased with this recipe. Not only was it quick and easy, but the ingredients were simple too. I used red wine vinegar, but plan to try different vinegars and different jams in the future.

Cornbread Muffins I

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2006
Absolutely delicious!! I am not a huge fan of cornbread because its usually dry. This was so moist! I realized while I was mixing, my muffin pan had been borrowed to a friend. So I used a 8x8 pan. Still turned out wonderful.

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2006
Very good version of country fried steak, and it was so easy to make. The gravy turned out perfectly. To keep the steaks from getting soggy, I placed them on a cooling rack to drain, with paper towels under the rack.

Antipasto Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2006
I thought this was a pretty good recipe, I used rotini pasta because I had it in the house. Good overall flavor. Also a side note to a previous review, antipasto does not mean without pasta, it is an adaptation of the word antipasti meaning appetizer in Italian, which this sort of dish is often served as.

Chicken Breasts With Herb Basting Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2005
Very good combination of herbs and spices. Definitely brown the chicken prior to baking. We overcooked the chicken a little (typical at our house) but otherwise it was good.

Simple Peanut Squash

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2005
Great Recipe! We cut our squash into smaller pieces, about 1 inch, which made it cook faster. Also added a little more brown sugar. This is a great alternative to eating the squash mushed, the taste and texture of the squash really comes through, and it's just sweet enough to be everyone's (especially the kiddo's) favorite!

Apple Walnut Stuffed Pork Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2005
Let me start by saying, the pork was very good, moist and tender and the stuffing inside was great. Some ideas to help yours turn out better would be, to turn the roast over half way through baking for more even cooking, and if you have left over stuffing you are best to add more liquid to it, put it in a separate pan, and cover it. Our extra stuffing was really dry, but the stuffing rolled inside was good.

Marian's Creamed Corn

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2002
This corn was a hit today on our Thanksgiving spread. We usually just have plain corn, but this year I wanted to try something new. As recommended, I used less sugar. We ran out of 9x13 pans, so I had to use a smaller one, but it turned out wonderful! We will have it again!!

A Marinade To Die For

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2002
A little too sweet for me, but the rest of the family though it was ok. I think I'll keep looking for a good steak marinade- this wasn't exactly "to die for."

Amish White Bread

This was my first time baking bread w/out a machine. The bread turned out perfectly and was delicious. It was sweet enough to eat with only butter. Everyone is asking when I'm going to make more!
