Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
gets better when room temp. Buttering the bread takes away. There is a reason it has so many good reviews. Don't waste your time on a different recipe.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
It was something that grew on me. The first bit was not spicy or to flavorful. By the third bit we were satisfied and to grew more spice. I did use ground turkey so maybe hamburger would have more flavor. Next time it think I will sub some crushed tomatoes for some of the juice.

Orange Raisin Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
I added pecans, 1/2 ts pumpkin pie spice and 1/2 ts nutmeg. I dusted the tops of the muffins with a little cinnamon before I cooked them. These were great. I might try next time to soak my raison in the OJ for a while (if I have the time) or use cranberries. The thing about the muffins that I liked was that they were not so much sweet but more spicy. More attitude than a normal muffin. My neighbor keeps asking me for this recipe 4 weeks after I dropped some over at her house.

Peppermint Brittle

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2008
I added a layer of chocolate down first. When I went to break it up the chocolate and the peppermint did not stick together. Bad if you are making it for a gift. Ok if you just set the pan out for a snack or at a informal party. The flavor was really good. I crushed the peppermint sticks in the food processor until it was a powder so no one would hurt their teeth.

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2005
yummy. This is a great recipe. I have used stew meat instead of the roast. I took my stew meat and browned it first then I followed the recipe except I have not used the frozen mixed veggies. Try it. It speaks homemade.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread I

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2004
SOOOOOOO GOOOOOD! I have had fun with this recipe from start to finish. This is a nice dough to work with. I used 2 cups of raisons and a little more then 7 cups of flour. I decreased the baking time by about 15 mins. The loafs came out beautiful. Next time I might use some brown sugar with the white sugar and cinnamon mixture. I will use this again.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2003
This was PERFECT. Once a month I cook dinner for your staff at our church youth group. There are about 30 youth workers. It was so fun to see ALL of them SAVORING this dessert. Some asked that I make this every month. I made this the night before. I was lucky enough to have leftovers and rewarded my self durning nap time. Thanks for this recipe it has won me many friends.

Broiled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2003
These were o.k. I do not think that I cooked it correctly. I do not have a broiler pan so I used a 9x13 baking dish with a wire thing on top so it could drip. When we sat down to dinner we found that they weren't cooked all the way. So we desided to cook they some more. The sauce was not very flavorful. The pork chops were not gross but they were not wonderful.
