No Bake Pumpkin Pie I

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2004
Yum, so easy you'll feel guilty. I used fresh grated nutmeg. I liked the graham cracker crust and can't wait to try the traditional pastry crust. Has a nice firm consistency, not mushy at all. Thanks.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2004
Although and experienced cook, this is my first time with a bread machine and this must make too large a loaf for my Breadman machine. The dough overflowed and caused the lid to lift during the cooking process and clean up was a mess. My machine indicated it is 1 1/2 pound size and I measured precisely ... not sure what the problem is. Any advice?

Spinach Pear Salad with Warm Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2004
I have made this for several events and everyone loves it. I always add some walnuts and use feta cheese instead of blue since it's milder. Will try with canned mandarin oranges for summer months.

Chicken and Dressing Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2003
Instead of all water, I use 1/2 milk, 1/2 water. Plus, I add a bag of frozen broccoli florets in the same layer as the chicken. I think it's yummy comfort food and family has enjoyed it. It's not gourmet, but it does hit the spot and has your veggies in there!

Colonial Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2002
It was good, went over well at the office. Very dense and took a long time to cook. I added nuts.

Praline Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2002
Incredible - only way me or my father will eat sweet potatoes. Almost dessert like. The topping and cream are the secret. Thanks.

Sauerkraut Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2002
I finally found a way to tolerate saurkraut. I did what the other reviewer mentioned about adding kielbasi. It is sweet but I liked it b/c the whole reason I don't like saurkraut is the bitterness. My three guests enjoyed it and took some home. Do not use the whole teaspoon of pepper. Perhaps a half would be better.

Easy Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2002
This is similar to the recipe I used to make from an old "Mr. Food" recipe book that I loved.. and lost. It makes a nice, firm bar - not as messy as many lemon bars.

Pork Roast with Thyme

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2002
I've made this twice. Once with a pork loin and once with a pork butt roast. It is a wonderful flavor and I received tons of compliments. I served it on New Year's with saurkraut and the other time with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. Give it a try, it's easy and tasty.

Swedish Nuts II

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2001
Made 2 nut recipes from this site. The glazed nuts and these. Brought both into the office and had a taste test. These won hands down. Taste just like the candied pecans you get on a salad in a fancy restaurant. Will be taking to parties as host/hostess gifts wrapped in pretty cellophane with a sprig of pine and a bow. Thanks.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2001
This is a miracle worker! I've never liked sweet potatoes (nor has my father). Made these and LOVED them, they are so rich and the topping is heavenly. No more canned potatoes for this group. Can't say enough. I used 5 sweet potatoes, not yams. Thanks for the keeper!

Glazed Nuts

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2001
Super easy to make. Used pecans and almonds. Recommend pecans b/c I thought the almonds were a bit tough to chew. Not a sweet recipe, the cloves and brown sugar give it more of a pungent, aromatic taste.

Kielbasa Made Easy

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2001
Made last year for X-Mas appetizer. Went over so well, and nice to have on hand in the crock pot so it stays warm and you can walk away. Already had requests to make it this year. Thanks for the recipe.
