About this Cook
I'm a little italian, cuban and good ole american so my cooking style can vary.
My favorite things to cook
Spaghetti, picadillo, soups of all kinds, stews you name it. I love to cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Nocha Buena dinner (Christmas Eve) - a pork roast, black beans and rice and yucca and my grandmother's Italian sauce.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking a good steak was a phobia for years till I finally got the hang of it!!
My cooking tragedies
All those poor expensive steaks I killed :( Once cooking a chili using fresh beans soaked overnight and the beans never softened. Guess they were bad :(

This is a great recipe as is! For fun I added some celery seed and a teaspoon of hot curry powder. As another reviewer said - this is a great base recipe as is - but the possibilities of having fun with it are endless. Thanks for the recipe!!

Simple Turkey Chili
I really liked this recipe. Despite adding less water than called for I found it runnier than I prefer. Here is what I added for thick rich chili...1 6oz can tomato paste, green pepper, a tomato, a jalapeƱo (I omitted the cayenne) and lastly a square of dark was awesome.
