A local Coloradoan, I enjoy being outdoors. Summers are wonderful, local produce is my favorite!
My favorite things to cook
I try to stay in season for most of my produce (saves money and tastes soo much better!) I used to be a baker for a local grocery store (this however was a few years ago) and I loved it! I've worked a couple food service jobs and learned how to toss a pizza and make some pretty decent homemade recipes. I like to reinvent old recipes, I also like to follow old recipes to their exacting specifications. It varies on my mood however and what's in my pantry. :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husbands side is German, mine is a slew of different heritages. Mainly German and Czech. I however stick more to an eclectic variety of foods.
My cooking triumphs
My first Cornish game hen. I don't know why I've always been really intimidated with cooking large cuts of meat (mostly the fear of over-cooking, or food contamination by not cooking fast enough).
My cooking tragedies
Trying to make Mousse. I have an old kitchen with very little electrical outlets. I'll admit I also don't have all the tools necessary to create perfect dishes. I try though. This however was a complete and utter failure.

Homemade Mac and Cheese
I added garlic to it because I figured it would be bland. It turned out perfect with like 4 cloves of garlic added to the sauce. Yum!

Pizza Dough III
I used to work in a pizza parlor and have to say this is the closest I've come to the same type of dough used. I let it rise for a long time to make deep dish pizza and I love making individual pizzas with my family. It lets everyone pick what they want on theirs. Really easy and fun!
