Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2011
I made this for dinner last night and my two teenagers said it was the best pork they ever had! Some of the pics make the chops look like they are carmelized, mine did not turn out that way at all.

Southern Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
I just finished making this & cleaning up the greasy mess it made on my stove. It was crispy and looked nice but it did not have any flavor. I did the ice water bath for about 45 mins, floured the chicken, put it in the fridge and dipped in flour again right before I put the chicken in the pan. I don't think it was worth all the work. Might be better if you put some spices in the flour. I like my over fried chicken recipe better, tastes better and no greasy mess to clean on my stove. Won't be making this one again.

Day-After-Thanksgiving Turkey Carcass Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2012
I made this on Black Friday. I did not put in the peas (didn't want to) and added egg noodles instead of rice. It was so good! My family liked it too (even my pick eater daughter). It even tasted better the next day. I definitely will make this again. Thanks for sharing.

Sour Cream Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2012
Tried this recipe today. Oh my God is it good! Nice touch to sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the top before baking. Smelled SO good baking on the oven. My teenagers asked me when they could have a piece even before it was done baking. I baked it for an hour and 15 minutes like the recipe said, I think next time I will try taking it out 5 or 10 minutes before that as the top looked like it was starting to get too dark and the crust was a bit too hard for me. Otherwise a GREAT recipe!

Chocolate Ganache

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2013
I made this to pour over the Crazy Cake that I made for Easter dessert(recipe also on this site). I used Gharardelli bittersweet chocolate chips. OMG it was SO good, and I am quite the chocoholic! Everyone loved it! It was also easy to make. Highly recommended!

Penne with Chicken and Asparagus

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2014
It was so good! My picky eater teenage daughter said that this is a definite make again dish! Mine did not come out dry. If it was dry you could always add more broth or olive oil. I used boneless, skinless thighs, I think they are juicier than breasts and my family prefers dark meat. Only thing I did different was I cut up the chicken ahead of time and seasoned it with the salt, pepper and garlic powder before cooking it instead of seasoning it while cooking. Will DEFINITELY make this again! Thanks for posting Laurel!

Yummy Baked Chicken Thighs in Tangy Sauce

Reviewed: May 4, 2014
Tried it tonight for dinner. We all liked it. It was easy to prepare. Used 4.75 lbs of chicken because that was the smallest size package of chicken that I could find. The recipe made enough sauce to cover the extra chicken. I thought that the sauce came out a little more watery than I expected, so maybe stirring in corn starch or flour could be a good idea to thicken it up a bit. I made the sauce ahead of time, let it cool & poured it over the chicken to let it marinate for about an hour. Giving 4 stars because while it was good, it didn't knock my socks off.

Zucchini Patties

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2014
Loved it! I am the only one in my house that likes zucchini, but my husband and two teenagers liked these. My son loved them! Changes I made were that I used Locatelli Romano instead of Parmesan & Colby/Monterey Jack cheese because that is what I had on hand. Also added some minced garlic. I have already made them twice and the second time I doubled the recipe. Now I have something to do with all the zucchini growing in my garden. Thanks for the recipe!
