Sister Schubert's® Chicken Pot Pie with Bread Topping

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2010
This was really good. I did not have dijon mustard and used ground mustard instead and it was delish! It is rather time consuming and involved for a pot pie recipe but I think it's worth it.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
This recipe made an excellent stew. I usually never rate a recipe unless I follow it exactly but I will in this case because I think you should know that you can play around with this one to suit your taste and end up with excellent results. I browned the meat in oil first (because I like a "seared" look), used 1-1/2 cupes water with 1 extra large buillion cube (because I didn't have broth) and added 1 14.5 oz can stewed tomatoes and some fresh green beans (because I wanted to get rid of them). This was excellent. It could have used more gravy (because I did add the extra veggies) and would consider using more broth/water&bouillon/wine the next time.

Best Cream of Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
This soup was very rich, thick and creamy. Delish! I did end up adding more chicken broth at the end because the soup become too thick and I needed to thin it out a little. I also found that 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper may have been too much - the soup really had a kick to it (although no one else in my family seemed to feel it.)

Easy Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
This is the best vodka sauce I ever made - and also the best vodka sauce I have ever had. This recipe makes a nice size batch of sauce. I was able to freeze half and use for another dinner a few weeks later.

Albondigas

Excellent soup. Very hearty and filling. I used mild salsa and it still had a kick. Great weeknight meal served with a crusty loaf of bread. Even my picky son ate a whole bowl!

Mexican Chicken I

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
This is excellent. I made the recipe exactly. I baked the chicken at 400 degrees for 1-1/2 hours. My baking dish was covered with foil. The chicken was tender and the beans did not burn. I made this 2x with excellent results. I did uncover and top with cheddar cheese last 10 minutes. Served with Mexican rice and sour cream. Nice and easy.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
My family loves this. I've made this quite a few times and it comes out good every time. It is a bit time consuming breading and frying all those small pieces of chicken but the end result is really good.

Cafeteria Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
I was a little leary about the method for making this - I'm a tried a true "white sauce" maker for mac & cheese. I have to say that this was just as good and a lot easier. Very tasty. Definately going to make this again.

Crab Stuffed Flounder

Great easy meal. I didn't have saltines so I crushed some oyster crackers into the stuffing instead. Delicious! This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Steve's Famous Garlic Home Fries

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2012
I made these in my cast iron skillet and they were excellent! I used smoked paprika instead of plain. I'll be making these often. They were a hit.
