My favorite things to cook
I go through phases, but mostly down-home stuff life meatloaf and mashed potatoes, I make a lot of things from my childhood like schnitzel, spaetzle, piccata, or newer finds like ropa vieja and arroz con pollo.

An enormous, four-tiered coconut cake for Easter that I managed to make in my teeny kitchen in my first apartment. It was sweltering in there and I stood over a double-boiler for thirty minutes making the frosting. I'm glad I saw it through though, it was beautiful and really tasty and we sent everyone home with some. I totally underestimated its size!
My cooking tragedies
A slow-cooker stew that later came to be known in our family as 'A$$ Soup.' And of course the 'scorched-to-the-pot' slow-cooker lasagna. Eugh. Thankfully neither were my recipes!
