BBQ Country Style Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2013
I've made this recipe several times! I do some easy modifications such as a bit of lemon juice (like in the bottle kind, not fresh b/c I hardly ever think to buy lemons lol) in the bottom of the pan. The lemon juice and bbq sauce (MUST USE ORIGINAL SWEET BABY REYS ON THESE!) make a great combo taste! I slow cook them like the recipe says when I can, but you can also cook them faster if you just turn the heat up. I also salt, pepper, and greek season and rub into the ribs before I put the garlic on. I use a good amount of garlic and rub it in also. Then I fold up the aluminium foil (before I lay the ribs in I make a T of aluminium foil for easy cleaning and more flavor locking too), and pop in the oven! they always smell so good cooking, even without the bbq. add in the bbq and uncover and cook for about 30 minutes more and BAM! awesome dinner that even my 5 year old and 2 year old LOVE! never any left overs here

Appetizer Meatballs

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
These are not good as meatballs. I am going to make it as a meatloaf next time, and add a bit more breadcrumbs cuz these were falling apart. Also I will add something else to the sauce but I havent figured out what. I will put the meatloaf in the crockpot and cook the same way I cook my "melt in your mouth" meatloaf

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
My husband loved them, so did my 3 year old. Im not a big wing fan anyways so i didnt care for them. To me, it was too much work for something that I really didnt like anyways. I did not fry in butter but instead did the flour/broiler/then sauce techniue. proly would be better if I had went ahead and fried them

German Style Kielbasa

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
SO AMAZING! Im actually making this for the second time right now. I use just 1 lb of sausage, either one or 2 cans of kraut and about 3 or 4 apples depending on what I have on hand. My whole family loves it. Makes the kraut sweet. I take the sausage and sautee' it with a big onion and a tablespoon of butter, then take it and set it aside while I do the apples/kraut. add all together and simmer till my fried potatoes are done :)

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2011
This is sooo good! The only thing I changed was adding the garlic into the marinade. I soaked the chicken in one ziploc bag and the veggies (green, yellow bell, onion, cherry tomatoes, green and yellow squash) in another for 24 hours or so turning over once at 12 hours. Next time I will be adding potatoes to the mix I think cuz my family cant eat a meal without some kind of potatoes! *Edit: Im making this again tonight but as whole chicken breasts, butterflied in half to make thinner and only getting to marinate about 6 hours. I bought honey mustard and provalone cheese to put on it and some onion poppy seed buns. CANT wait to eat this sandwhich tonight!

Mom's Country Gravy

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
Best gravy I ever tasted and made myself! very easy and I followed recipe exactly EXCEPT I had to use more butter after flour was in and then ended up adding oil also. i cooked the roux mixture for about 10 minutes as others suggested then added the milk. i added more pepper and some garlic powder also. Its supposed to be for dinner but i had some on toast already and idk if it will make it to my country fried steaks tonight lol

Dee's Roast Pork for Tacos

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
THIS recipe is in our weekly rotation now! We all love it, even the kids. I use whatever pork roast is cheaper that week and do the coating exactly how the recipe says. I freeze the leftovers, and reheat with a little taco sauce in a pan to add any juices that mightve gotten dried up in the freezer. its AMAZING!

Apricot Baked Ham

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
This is AMAZING and the ONLY way I cook ham now. This feeds my entire family of 3, sometimes 4, for at least 2 meals and 2 work lunches. I add pinapple to the top with toothpicks and orange juice instead of water to the bottom of pan :) Its even better the next day if you have the leftovers soaking in the juices all night!

Island Kielbasa in a Slow Cooker

this was OKAY i guess, we ate it and it was easy. seemed to be missing something though. i added a bag of frozen stir fry veggies to it, and alot less brown sugar. it was still sickening sweet though.

Steph's Zesty Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
I also doubled the recipe, and used ground pork because I had pinapple pork meatballs one time at a superbowl party that were amazing! HOWEVER, this particular recipe was lacking something, just not sure what. my boyfriend loved it however, so maybe it was just me comparing it to the others i had before.

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
this was amazing! i used a 3 lbs roast, a bag of baby carrots, and cut small red potatoes in half, also added two onions that i just cut into 4 as they fall apart on their own as the roast cooks. I used all kinds a spice on the meat, montreal seasoning, garlic powder n salt, ground pepper, and i continued to season it as it cooked. it turned out just a little spicy but thats how we like it :) i also used beef broth instead of water for extra flavor. after it cooked about 6 hours i removed everything but the juice, put it in a skillet and added flour to make gravy for it! Served with salad and cresent rolls and will make again! The leftovers I threw back into crockpot with more broth (1 can) and the gravy and cooked overnight into a stew that i froze
