A to Z Everything-but-the-Kitchen-Sink Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2012
I get angry when I see Husband moving towards the cookie jar; these cookie are amazing! I pretty much stuck to the recipe except for two additions: rubbed half a vanilla bean in with the sugar (had some left over from another recipe), and threw in a handful or so of white chocolate chips. Couldn't find mace, so I followed another reviewers recommendation to sub it for more nutmeg. Seemed just fine, but I have no idea what mace tastes like. I could be missing out on an even more amazing cookie, but I don't think we mortals can handle the awesomeness! I don't know if it's my oven or not (not a proficient baker by any means), but these hardly seemed done after 8-10 minutes. The first batch I left in for 16 minutes after testing with the toothpick method, and although not burned, they may have been just slightly overdone. I left subsequent batches in for 12 minutes and then let them cool on the cookie sheet to solidify a little more. The results were great! Hope this helps the more clueless bakers like me. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Vegetarian Penne

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
Ugh! Delicious and so so filling! I doubled most of the recipe (last minute) so I forgot to double the veggies. My bad! It was great though. Husband ate so much that he had a stomach ache! That flour/heavy whipping cream mixture was so tasty! I wanted to have more of it for a thicker sauce! Maybe I'll triple that portion of it... but YUM!

Easy Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
I ate WAY too much of this! Husband and I loved it! I wanted something delicious that would be a great leftover, and this fit the bill. I did what others suggested and added black beans and a can of Rotel. it would have been perfect with or without (I just love me some black beans!). This is one of those meals you'll have seconds of, then lounge around full and satisfied. Or in my case, way too full because you have to keep on eating it... YUM!

Slow Cooker Chili II

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
I loved this chili! I've made this 2 or 3 times, already. My only variation: I don't use any meat. It's hearty even without it. Aside from that, I serve it over Fritos with a dollop of sour cream (and maybe some shredded sharp cheddar cheese) on top. I am not a big fan of spicy foods, but my husband is. We were both VERY pleased with this recipe. THANKS!
