Oven-Fried Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2012
Good stuff! We left out the butter (dieting) and baked the porkchops on a wire rack on a baking sheet (same amount of time, same temp). The pork chops were juicy and tender, the crust crisp and flavorful. I even had a leftover chicken breast that I gave the same treatment as the porkchops. My husband RAVED about the chicken, and he's not really a chicken lover. Great recipe/method. Highly recommended!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
Really nice texture to the roll, came out excellent, but I can't say its my favorite cinnamon roll recipe. Something is missing... Also rated 4 stars instead of five because it lacks directions for people without bread machines. I had to dig and find further instruction in comments.

Bacon-Flavored Dog Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2011
Its official, Sophie loves 'em. Made recipe as directed. Next time I'll use peanut butter. The bacon scent was a bit strong in our house after making them.

Fluffy Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
Fantastic biscuit recipe. I did have to alter it just a bit because I ran out of AP flour. I used 1/4 cup whole wheat flour and 1 3/4 cup AP flour. I intended to follow another user's suggestion of half shortening half butter, but only had two tablespoons of butter left, so I threw it in the measuring cup and filled it the rest of the way with shortening. The biscuits were fabulous. Light, flaky, and made really good sausage egg and cheese biscuits. I totally recommend this recipe!

Garlic and Dill Salmon

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2011
VERY strong garlic flavor. I liked it, hubs felt it needed to be toned down a bit. The fresh dill is very nice. We hit it with a quarter lemon per serving after cooking which added a little more interest. Very good basic recipe.

Flaky Food Processor Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
I tried it with whole grain flour... Might not have been the best idea. It fell apart while rolling it out, and I imagine the wheat bran interfered with some necessary chemistry going on in the white flour. Very fun to make in your food processor! My 4 month old was well entertained :)

Waffles I

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
Fantastic waffle recipe. They turned out perfectly and I got 6 and a half waffles using my belgian waffle maker. I followed the recipe exactly and didn't have any problems. I didn't even need nonstick spray to keep them from sticking to the waffle maker. Definitely a keeper for me.

Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2011
Yeah, this is totally cake. Followed the recipe almost exactly. I like chocolate chips, so I threw a few in there. Baked 40 minutes and got a nicely done product with very nice flavor, but I wouldn't classify these as brownies. Brownies should be chewy and super chocolaty. This recipe yields a very nice chocolate cake flavor that kids would be major fans of. Its sweet and buttery, and goes fantastically with a glass of milk... but yeah, its cake.

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Good flavor, though we only used half an onion, and didn't have mozzarella so we used cheddar. I brushed the crust with butter to keep the water out of it. Tasted great!

Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
Really really good base for a soup. It's a healthy version, but my husband and I couldn't do without bacon so we threw a couple of pieces in. We also added some paprika and parsley, and lots of black pepper. Not quite what we had on the pier in San Fran, but super delicious nonetheless! Highly recommend if anyone else is looking to break free of the Thanksgiving Leftover doldrums.
