About this Cook
Born and raised in tropical Singapore but am currently living at 6000 feet above sea-level and having to deal with the cold for most part of the year...
My favorite things to cook
Anything, really. Being a new cook, I enjoy the adventure in making new dishes in new ways!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember my grandmothers slow-cooking yummy broths over a charcoal stove when I was little. My task was always to fan the fire till the charcoals are red hot. The broths always turn out extra delicious!
My cooking triumphs
I have been missing food from home ever since I left the little island... So, I have ventured to make some of those dishes myself and with the help of my husband, we made daikon radish 'cake' a while back and it was the closest thing to home I have ever made!!
My cooking tragedies
Long long time ago, I tried to make a potato dish in a slow cooker and followed the recipe that came with the slow cooker to a T. Unfortunately, it turned out extremely salty... kind of edible, but I threw most of it away... to this day, I still don't know why...

High Altitude Deep Dish Brownies
It definitely turned out quite well! Although I must confessed that I cut the sugar further down to 1 cup because I really don't care for a super sweet brownie and used 1/4 cup each of butter, canola oil and apple sauce. Because of that the brownie did not turn out to be quite as fudgy as brownies are supposed to be but my husband and I both liked that very much still!

Kafta (BBQ)
It is tasty, but not very special... easy to make though!
