Born and raised in tropical Singapore but am currently living at 6000 feet above sea-level and having to deal with the cold for most part of the year... Anything, really. Being a new cook, I enjoy the adventure in making new dishes in new ways! I remember my grandmothers slow-cooking yummy broths over a charcoal stove when I was little. My task was always to fan the fire till the charcoals are red hot. The broths always turn out extra delicious! I have been missing food from home ever since I left the little island... So, I have ventured to make some of those dishes myself and with the help of my husband, we made daikon radish 'cake' a while back and it was the closest thing to home I have ever made!! Long long time ago, I tried to make a potato dish in a slow cooker and followed the recipe that came with the slow cooker to a T. Unfortunately, it turned out extremely salty... kind of edible, but I threw most of it away... to this day, I still don't know why...
