Apple and Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2001
This was an extremely easy recipe to make. Instead of baking in the oven, I put everything in a crockpot and cooked on low for about 8 hrs. and served over rice. Delicious!

Crumb Apple Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2007
My familly loved this recipe even my husband who is not a huge fan of apple pie loved it! I did notice that after 10 min. of baking that the crumb topping was starting to burn. I covered the entire pie with aluminum foil and cooked an additional 35 min. The crumb topping stayed intact and did not turn to goo like other reviewers reported.

Bacon Spaghetti

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2004
The general consensus from reading others reviews on this recipe was that it was kind of dry. I added extra olive oil and doubled the amount of garlic. My family loved it.

Lemon Squares I

Reviewed: May 21, 2009
This was the best lemon squares recipe I have ever made! My family loved them. One important note is to set the oven to 20 degrees less than recommended if using a glass pan. I found using fresh lemon juice makes a huge difference in the taste compared to store bought lemon juice.

Key Lime Pie IV

Reviewed: May 27, 2007
Unfortunately my husband and I were not impressed with this pie. Overall the sweetened condensed milk over powered the taste of the pie. It was definitely easy to prepare and a kid friendly recipe to get them involved in. Our 5 yr old son loved it but I think it was because he was able to prepare most of the pie and was impressed with how the food coloring turned the mixture green. Next time I will definitely opt for a key lime pie recipe that is baked to help break down the sugar.

All 14 of my guests for Easter raved about these potatoes! I made them in the crockpot and they turned into cheesy mashed potatoes.

Ham A La King

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2010
I have been making this recipe for years only adding the ham at my son's request. He his the pickiest eater ever and often requests that I make this. I also add 5 slices of cheese and about 2 tsp of mustard for extra thickness, color, and flavor. This recipe is so quick and easy.

Broccoli Casserole III

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
I took the suggestion of other reviewers and cooked the broccoli first. I then mixed in the cheese, topped with the bread crumb mixture and baked per the instructions. My husband and I loved it.

Portobello Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 3, 2010
This is an awesome recipe. Great alternative to burgers. I added sliced tomato and red onion. I also have made them grilled and broiled them. They turn out great either way. I agree with other reviewers to make sure to purchase fresh hamburger buns (makes all the difference in the overall taste of the sandwich).

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2007
My husband and I are very picky when it comes to seasoning fish. This recipe gave the fish a nice fresh flavor. I used cilantro in place of the parsely and lime juice instead of lemon.

Lemon Bars I

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2012
The best lemon bars I've ever made. I didn't change a thing. The crust is fabulous and so is the lemon topping.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2011
I really liked this recipe. I rarely make lasagna because my husband is Italian and I'm not so my lasagna is never what he expects lasagna to be. He loved this recipe and raved that it was close to what his Mother would make. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Way too much vinegar for my family's taste. I will not make this again.

Fajita Marinade I

Reviewed: May 7, 2011
I didn't have liquid smoke so I omitted it. I also omitted the garlic and added a Tbsp. of Chili Garlic Sauce, 1tsp of cumin, 1tsp. smoked paprika. I marinated steak and chicken all day then grilled it for approximately 30 min. over low heat. Delish!

Smoked Paprika Goulash for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
I thought this was just ok. My husband loved it and said it tasted better the next day. I'll try this again and make 1 day in advance. As other reviewers stated the smoked paprika is key.

Blackened Tuna Steaks with Mango Salsa

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
This was an excellent dish. The mango salsa was a perfect complement to the tuna. My husband and I love hot/spicy food but the heat was a little intense for us in this recipe. Next time I will cut down on the cayenne a bit.

Becca's Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
This was awesome despite the small modification I had to make. The grocery store was out of sweet onions so I substituted the sweet onion for a yellow onion and sautéed the onion for a couple minutes. Delicious! Will definitely make again!

Buster Bar Ice Cream Dessert

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
This was fantastic! I made this for a family party and everyone raved about the recipe. My family said it was better than a traditional store bought ice cream cake. I used store bought fudge in place of the chocolate mixture to save time. I wouldn't recommend this becuase the fudge oozed out a little after I cut the dessert. I also created layers starting with the crust, ice cream, crust, peanuts, ice cream, and fudge.

Jewish Coffee Cake

Reviewed: May 27, 2007
I have been looking for a great coffee cake recipe and this one is a hit. Even my son who is the pickiest of eaters liked it. I reduced the baking time to about 40 min as recommended by other reviewers. I probably could've reduced the time by another 5 min.
