About this Cook
I have worn and still wear a lot of hats in my life, I have been or am; a daughter, a sister, a mom, a Grandma, a aunt, a wife, a daughter-in-law, a nurse, a friend, a medical coder, a volunteer to many charities, CPR instructor, a red-hat lady, Special Olympics regional medical director, a boomernurse, currently playing fulltime grandma (which I am loving!)and yet all these combined do not come close to giving me the feelings of love and pride I have when I look into my children's eyes or I hear Abby, Christian or Bella say... I LOVE YOU GRANDMA!
My favorite things to cook
Anything my grandkids want to cook. I am teaching them the love of cooking also. My granddaughter is going to be one AWESOME cook. At the age of 10 she is making up recipes already~
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas eve... crab legs and steak. Valentines day... the Swanson chocolate festival. We cook all kinds of candy, food, desserts. If you can make it with chololate we do and invite friends over to enjoy the feast and the chocolate fountain
My cooking triumphs
Stuffed jalapeno peppers wrapped in bacon. My husbands favorite.
My cooking tragedies
1000 characters are not enough to list these. LOL

Salisbury Steak
I will not rate recipes that I have changed in any way. I made this one exactly as it is written (I did double the sauce, as recommended). I could not believe the reviews... just looking at the recipe. It seemed waaaaay to simple. It was amazing! My husband raved about it and my daughter was just happy there was some left over for her to take to work for lunch tomorrow. Talk about not judging a book by it's cover... goes well for this recipe too. I am adding this to my menu for sure.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya
My family loves this recipe and asks me to make it a lot! Since they do not like tomatoes I use tomato sauce instead. (don't ask me, I don't get it either but it works!) I love the idea of serving it over red beans and rice instead of just rice... I will try that tonight.

Banana Sour Cream Bread
This was the BEST recipes I have ever tried for banana nut bread. It was so moist and the cinnamon/sugar on the crust added the best flavor! This is a keeper!!
