Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2012
Really didn't feel like I was making the same recipe at all after all the changes as suggested by others...so...I used 6 large peaches and that worked just fine. I didn't add orange juice.

Rhubarb Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
I make a version of this cake. I did not use pinapple. I just did everything but the pinapple. YUMMY! Just a note it takes a really long time to cook all the way through though. I also use all white sugar, no brown. YUM Also to note. I just layered everything. I first put down the rhubarb, then sprinkle white sugar over the top (only use 3/4 cup) and then sprinke the jello powder over the rhubarb. Next I sprinkle the marshmallows and then poor the cake batter over the top of it. Turns out perfect and is absolutely delicious!

Split Pea and Ham Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2011
very minimal recipe-its hard to rate the recipe itself when it requires adding so much extra. I always add carrots and celery (not potatoes). I also just pre-soak the peas and rinse them several times. I also use diced up ham chunks in the pre-packages and use a little chicken base to flavor just a little more... After I soak the peas I just throw them in the pot with all the ingredients and cool until it thickens.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
I tried another recipe on this site and they turned out not so hot. All I tasted was the baking powder. This recipe was much better! My family gobbled them up. I did follow the suggestions from one of the reviews. I also used butter flavored crisco because I was out of butter (die hard butter fan, but just didn't have any) any way crisco worked, though I imagine butter would have tasted much better, but in a pinch this worked nicely.

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
All I tasted was baking powder-yuck. Not nearly enough sugar. They rose good and wern't dry, but man that baking powder was over powering. I think 2 tsps would be plenty.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
This is the way I've made my lasagna for years, only if I am feeling different I will add spicey italian sausage instead of mild or sweet. I also add bell peppers and sliced black olives to my sauce (my mom is a full blooded Italian who learned how to cook from her noni) I also will some times add frozen spinich thawed to the ricotta for a change. YUM
