I call myself a housewife in training...I have been married for 8 years. ;) I just don't like doing the "house wife" stuff or the label. I like to bake or try to. My husband and baby girl are my test subjects, and have to eat what I make them. Somethings are a bust. I tried hard-boiling eggs the other day and didn't do so well. It is a hit and miss with my cooking. This morning pancakes were perfect! and tonight I baked Lasagna, turned out good to!
My favorite things to cook
pork chops with apple chunks to flavor, mashed potatos, bread pudding with my special orange whip cream, and for Thanksgiving my special dish is the Yams served in orange bowls. I also make good cranberry sauce using orange juice instead of water.
My favorite family cooking traditions
grabbing what ever I have in the pantry and making it up as I go.
Garlic and more garlic, goes with everything!
Rarely I make a pie, but when I do, I cut out 2 leaf shapes on the top crust instead of poking holes with a fork for the venting. It makes an added detail to the pie.
My cooking triumphs
egg drop soup, bread pudding, Hawaiian lil smokies, tuna casarole
My cooking tragedies
Hard-boiled eggs. A perfect omlet, I just can't do it.
