Kale and Banana Smoothie

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
I know the recipe is probably wonderful, but the aftertaste of raw kale was very unpleasant to me. The smoothie sans kale would be very nice I'm sure.

Red Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
Very simple and inexpensive to make. I used the leftover sauce to make a layered enchilada casserole and it was really, really good!

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
I usually use a different recipe for rice when I cater, but I tried this one on a whim and had loads of compliments. I'll always use this one!

Lemon Lush Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
This pie is AMAZING!! I doubled the lemon juice and reduced the milk as suggested and made these into tarts for a customer. They were so wonderful I wish I had some extras to keep. You're missing out if you don't make this!

Antipasto Squares

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
I cater small scale affairs and I made this for a fancy-schmancy cocktail party for doctors, lawyers, professionals, etc. and it was such a hit. They went on and on about how fabulous they were. I served it with sides of Red Pepper Coulis and Pesto for dipping. I guarantee I will make these many times again!

Fortune Cookies So Easy

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2006
They tasted good, but they took an hour to make. Too much investment for poor payoff.

This was a really good recipe. I added a half cup of grated parmesan cheese so it had more smell and taste and he liked them alot. They were pretty tasty for people too!

Best Zucchini Appetizer

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2003
I made these for a party as an hors'deouvres and they were SO bland. All you could taste was egg and zucchini. Maybe for brunch these would be okay, but not as an appetizer at a cocktail party.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2002
This was the final cheesecakes of my taste test. It came in #1 and deservedly so! I have to say, it was virtually perfect. It was as smooth and silky as butter, had fabulous taste, but it cracked a bit. I lowered the temp and it was fine. I'm glad it was suggested that the bottom outside be covered with foil, make sure you don't skip that part! Excellent recipe overall.

Best Cheesecake on Earth

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2002
This was another one of the 3 cheesecakes I made for taste-testing. It rated 3rd due to the grainy texture and lack of taste. It did, however, bake up beautifully, no cracks, didn't sink, had a lovely appearance.

Basic Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2002
I have a bakery and am always looking for good recipes. I made 3 of the cheesecakes from this page and had people taste test them, they voted this one 2nd in taste. However, this cheesecake cracked very badly, and since appearance is important, I won't make this one again.

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: May 30, 2002
It's good but it is really sweet.Maybe omitting the baked beans and adding more kidney beans or maybe some pinto beans. This was a good recipe, if a little bland, but I added extra chili powder, tomatoes and some cumin and it was better.

Asparagus Rolantina

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2001
I served it at a fancy dinner party and it was a hit. i would boil it longer though, the pre-boil and bake time weren't enough, it was too crunchy (for me).
