Shoyu Chicken

I made this with boneless thighs and a couple of legs and it was delicious! I did add all thhe pepper flakes and cayenne and we found it a bit too hot. I'll add them again next time but will cut it down by half to allow the sweetness to come through. I boiled up the marinade and mixed in some corn starch and served as a sauce on the rice. Soooo tasty!

Spicy Flat Iron Steak Rub

I used this on sirloin strip steaks & they were so juicy and delicious. Didn't have chipotle or ancho chili powder so I used about 1/4 tsp each of cayenne pepper, cumin and red pepper flakes. I cut the sugar down to 1 Tbsp and only used about 1/2 Tbsp of chili powder. We found this was perfect. I think that if you use all the chili powder called for it would be too much. The steaks were so juicy and the juice was delicious. Served with perogies and mushrooms cooked with garlic and peppers. Resturaunt quality meal. Thank you for sharing.

Spicy Hot Chicken Legs

Fall off the bone type, not bad except the skin was slimy. They need to somehow be made a bit crispy.

Candied Garlic Chicken Wings

I won't be making these again. A lot of messing around with cooking for very little flavor reward. I did add vinegar as suggested by others. The flavor just wasn't there.

Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns

This is the best dough that I have ever worked with. It rolled out so easy that I knew it would be something special to eat & it was. Light & tasty these were fabulous. I had to go out for a bit while they rose & my husband was supposed to watch them & put them in the oven when they were ready. Of course he forgot. When I got home 3 hours later they were filling the pan nicely. Popped them in the oven and they turned out wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Apple Crisp III

Made this for supper tonight. Excellent! Topping was perfect, nice and crunchy. I used 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 white. I may cut down on the sugar next time, a bit on the sweet side. Also added cinnamon to the topping mix.

Chocolate Oil Cake

This is my husbands favorite cake. It is quick & easy to make and comes out quite moist. I do think that it is better if you use 1 white sugar & 1 Brown sugar. I iced it with the Hard Chocolate Icing from this site & it was total chocolate overload. Yum!

Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers

I made these without the bacon because I didn't have any, and left out the onions because I don't like them in my burgers. My husband liked them so much we had them again 2 days later. I used extra lean hamburger because the cheese adds enough fat. They were very tender & juicy. Worchestershire adds a great flavor. Thanks!

Marty's Thai Chicken Satay

This was fantastic! The blend of flavors perfect! I server this on a bed of rice. My husband said it was the best sauce he ever tasted. I followed the recipe as written and would do so again. Thanks this is going to be a regular meal here. The only thing I might try is adding some grape tomatoes to the skewer next time.

Spinach Bacon Quiche

I gave this recipe 4 stars because I changed it a bit. It was wonderful! I cut the milk to 1.5 cups and used a pound of side bacon. I didn't have any spinach so I used broccoli and mushrooms. Sauteed them along with the onion for about 5 minutes. I beat the eggs, added the milk & beat again, then added all the other goodies. Pre- cooked the shell for 5 min. and put a bit of cheese on the bottom. Put it on top of a cookie sheet to bake. Came out delicious! Browned nicely and perfect crust. I'll be trying this again but with the spinach next time.

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

I make this over & over! Definitely a family favorite meal. Quick, easy, tasty and fun. Great with guacamole, jalapenos and refried beans as topping choices. Easy to change to vegetarian style with veggie chicken, just needs a little more liquid. Thanks for the great meal.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

I have made this recipe, just as it is, several times now & it is quick & easy to prepare. We call it comfort food. Great for those cold Manitoba nights. My husband loves the gravy so I always make extra.

Butterscotch Apple Cookies

I've made these twice now & did a little change. I used apples from our tree and doubled the amount to 1 1/2 cups. I didn't use any apple juice at all as with the extra apples there was plenty of moisture. I also cut the sugar back to 1 cup & added a bit of nutmeg. These are amazing cookies. Took them to work & they were a hit. Thanks!

Awesome!!!!! I don't even really like applesauce but I have tons of apples from the tree outback so I made this recipe. I used 1 extra apple because they weren't that big. Cooked a bit longer to get rid of the water & it is perfect. Thanks

Sweet and Sour Dipping Sauce

Awesome. I used it to serve with the Kickin Meatball recipe from this site and it was a huge hit. I'm using the leftovers on my pork chops as I'm writing this and an looking forward to that great favour again. Thanks for the great sauce recipe. My son says its a definate redo!!!

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup
