Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2014
I've been making this casserole for years now. It is a family favorite on both my side and my in laws. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas I'm expected to bring in and I do...gladly! Sometimes I add marshmallows to half the casserole. It is so delicious, our holidays are not holidays without this dish...definitely a must try!

Marshmallow Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2013
Made this and I found them to be kinda bland. They didn't taste as sweet as I expected them to be. I even added white chocolate m&ms and still didn't help the flavor much. They were also really hard to bind together.

Philadelphia New York-Style Sour Cream-Topped Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2013
This is always a pleaser at all our family get togethers. Everyone says it's restaurant quality or better! ;) I've made it exactly as directed the only glitch I have found is that the baking temp & time might be off. It takes a lot longer to bake at 325, I end up having to turn it up to 350 half way through bake time. So from now on I'll just start at 350 and keep a close eye on it. I've cut it into squares and added fruit, pie fillings or chocolate drizzle. I've also made it round with berries mixed in glaze on top. Super simple to make and delicious!

Mini Cheesecakes

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2013
followed the recipe exactly and for some reason these were not all the hype I expected. My husband was the first to try them and he said they were dry :( I was pretty disappointed to hear that as I'm know to be a good baker. Anyway I topped them with cherry pie filing to help with the dryness a little. Don't know what went wrong since others had great success, oh well.

Spiced Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2012
Absolutely love this banana bread. It is my husband's favorite and when I took it to work for our holiday cookie/pastry xmas exchange, everyone raved about it. I add walnuts as a personal preference and I've also made it sugar free w/Splenda for my mother in law who is diabetic. Thanks for sharing this recipe! :)

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2012
I really loved this and so did my family. I made this twice! for Thanksgiving since I go to my parents and then my in laws. At my parents I made it as stated in the recipe although I did add 3 cream cheese bars as suggested by reviewers and I also baked the first layer of dough for a few minutes. I melted the butter for the topping and mixed it with the sugar and cinnamon. This made it spreadable over the top layer, it came out wonderful. Everyone kept asking what it was and how I made it. For my in laws I made a sugar free version since my m-i-l is diabetic. I simply added splenda to the cream cheese instead of sugar and for the top layer I only coated it with a bit of melted butter and then sprinkled cinnamon all over, no sugar that also was very tasty, everyone ate it even the kids. I only feel that the cream cheese is a bit mushy although no one seemed to mind or notice but I almost want some cheesecake consistency to it, wondering if adding and egg would help? I might mess with that a lil bit ;)

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2012
My family absolutely loves this blueberry french toast! I took the advise of a reviewer and mixed the cream cheese w/powder sugar...yum! I don't do the sauce because it just came out too sweet and sticky the one time I did try it. Instead I buy the Knotts Boysenberry sauce and it goes great with it. My teenage kids say this is ridiculously good! A must try recipe for sure.

LynzzPaige's Kaiserschmarrn (Emperor's Pancakes)

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2012
Yummm can't believe I found this recipe! I love these. This recipe is fantastic! Tricky but definitely doable and delicious. The only place I've had them is at Spago's in Beverly Hills. They are served with strawberries, powder sugar, a bit of whipped cream on the side and a drizzle of chocolate. They are a dessert so you can use any toppings you like...fruit, sweet sauces, even ice cream. They are my absolute favorite.

This is exactly how we make it in my family but we also add chopped walnuts and it's a great combination. If you have no allergies to nuts, I suggest you try it!

Pumpkin Spice Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
I made this recipe and it was delicious! Instead of yellow cake mix, use Spice cake mix and you can omit cinnamon, ginger unless you like it really spicey. Very good with coffee or milk.

Spinach Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2010
This is a fabulous recipe! I was looking for something easy with not too many ingredients and it was perfect. I followed the directions to the T only adding a little oregano and 2 garlic cloves for more flavor. I also used Pace Picanted salsa and went for the HOT one because we love spicy food. My husband took some for lunch and sent me a msg that this soup better be a part of our everyday meals! I guess it's safe to say he loved it :)
