Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
i gave this 5 stars, but i changed it quite a bit. i was only cooking for two (one being a toddler), so reduced amts quite a bit. i was also concerned about prev reviews saying it was too salty. I didn't have enough time for the slow cooker, so excited about a prev reviewer's comment that an electric skillet worked, i went with that idea. here's what i did: used 1/2 lb gr turkey & did step 1. then, right into the pan the meat was in, i added thin chunks red potato, carrot, celery. i let that cook a bit. added maybe a cup of crm of mushroom soup, 1/4 cup water, and about a tsp of au jus base. i simmered that for awhile till the veggies were close to done, added some canned peas and froz corn (though i steamed the corn in the microwave first). let it cook for a bit. i served with homemade red skinned mashed potatoes. absolutely divine! not salty at all.. sorry i didn't list how much of everything i used, that's what kind of cook i am: i frequently have to reduce amts, so i just add as much/little as it needs. you could do whatever you wanted with this!

Delicious Stuffed Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
i give this a high rating bec anything that my 4 yr old son eats must be good and he ate a whole one of these! side note: i use only lean (93/7) ground turkey in everything that calls for meat.. they were a little time consuimg but that could be because i was using a new frying pan and it took longer than i would've liked to brown. i had some leftover meat and made meatballs..nummy! which gave me an idea.. a couple days later, i made a small batch of just the filling and made turkey burgers..they were fabulous, super moist, the best turkey burgers i've ever had. i love multiple use recipes..another idea maybe you could use sweet potatoes and sausage.
