Strawberry Jam

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2015
2 tips. First, use a much much larger pot to cook the strawberry mix in. It bubbles up enormously and takes a good 20 minutes before it starts reducing. Second, use a thermometer that attaches to your pot. After 200, each degree higher changed the color and consistency of the jam. Without the thermometer you won't know when the magic 220 arrives. Made 2 1/2 12 oz jars. Tastes very rich!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2003
Excellent flavor! I was in a hurry, and didn't have over-ripe bananas, so I had to use regular bananas. Still turned out great! 1 batch made 8 mini loaves - filled nearly 3/4 full and they rose perfectly to make nice shaped loaves. Will wrap and give out to neighbors for Christmas. Thank you!

Grilled Salmon I

I received many compliments! I was afraid the flavor would be overpowering - but it wasn't. It complimented the flavor of the salmon perfectly. Thank you.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2003
Excellent cookie! I made it exactly as stated, except I used pecans. They turned out wonderful. I sent them to work with my husband, and he said they went crazy over them - gone in an hour. Next time, I will try the extra flour & will use walnuts. A definite keeper!

Best Chicken Salad Ever I

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2003
Very good. Almost perfect. Can't quite figure out what might be missing. The cole slaw dressing definitely makes this stand out above the basic mayo chicken salad! I might add onion next time.

Chicken Tetrazzini for a Crowd

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2003
Very good & it does make a lot! I like the taste of sherry in my tetrazinni, maybe I will try to add that next time. Definitely needs a little "extra" to kick-it-up-a-notch. But very simple & basic & will sure please a crowd.

Easy Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2003
This wasn't very flavorful. I prefer the "Easy Dump Cake" recipe from this site over this one. It has the same ingredients as this one, just different amounts which makes it a richer cake.

Easy Dump Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2003
My husband calls this the "Chocolate Malt Cake". It is so dense & rich, it almost has a malt type flavor to it. Don't panic when the cake collapses at the end of cooking. When it cools & you turn it over onto the serving platter, it looks wonderful. This cake is now the only chocolate cake we eat!!! Thank you!

Cinnamon Chips Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2003
Finally! A perfect muffin recipe that is easy, light, fluffy, delicate & delicious! I used mini chocolate chips & baked them in mini-muffin tins. I baked them until the edges just turned brown & had to let them cool in the pan before removing them since they were so delicate! No more muffin mixes for me - this was too easy! Thank you!

"SUPERIOR!" Is what my dreadfully picky husband said!!! I used Kikomann's LITE soy sauce and it turned out wonderful! My husband couldn't figure out what gave the meat that wonderful flavor! My house smelled fabulous! Thank you!

Honey Bun Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2003
Fabulous flavor! My picky husband and daughter LOVED this cake! I would consider it more of a coffee cake though. It is so moist that it almost falls apart when you slice it. Even though it tastes best when warm, it slices better when it's cool. I plan on making this very often! (It didn't last a day in my house!) Thank you!

No Time to Cook Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2002
Unbelievably easy & delicious! I did this as a last minute dinner, and only had fat free cream of chicken, and fat free cream of mushroom. I added pepper, garlic powder, and some italian seasoning for color. I also only had frozen chicken breasts. So, I threw everything in, put it on high, and the chicken was tender & scrumptious in 2 1/2 hours! Great over rice! Wow! Thank you!
