About this Cook
Retired from the U.S. Navy in 1995. Retired as a public school teacher in 2010. "Been There, Done That" Love to cook always have, learned from my Dad and anyone that would let me bother them when they were cooking! Bless Gracie Everman for answering ALL of my questions, and getting me addicted to great Apple butter!
My favorite things to cook
Grilled Chicken. Grilled Corn-on-the-Cob. Making fresh Pasta and then trying out new sauce ideas. Still trying to perfect my Mom's cream gravy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Fresh Green Beans with Potato's and bacon... Something called goulash, from Indiana... Every one of our 4 children like this...
My cooking triumphs
Grilled chicken, everyone that eats it, loves it... My Coleslaw, everyone seems to like it.
My cooking tragedies
My first attempt at making Mom's gravy. My brave bride (just married) even tried to tell me that it was not to bad... That story could be the basis for a 33 year marriage!! Can you say one LUCKY son of a gun!

Mom's Quick Pasta Sauce
Made this sauce with meatballs instead. 3/4 package of Onion soup mix and a little more water. This sauce is Stupid Good!!! The whole family loved it!!!! The 12 year old thought it was great!! I would use the entire 1oz package of soup mix if I used the ground beef. THANK YOU!

Macaroni Salad I
Excellent Salad! I like my salad with a little more zip so I added 2 tablespoons of white wine vinegar. Very smooth and creamy, my family loved it!
