Yum, I used rye bread and it was so buttery and crispy. Awesome twist on my everyday norm. Brown up the center piece for a topper.

Yum Yum! I never thought homeade applesauce could be so easy and FAST. Very DIET friendly, no fattening cream or whole milk.

Salsa Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2004
I loved the idea of having so many layers. One batch of this and your family will be eating for days. A few changes before I make again: half an onion is plenty; white chesse such as jack, mozz, or muenster instead of cheddar; pureed salsa instead of chunky (family isn't big on tomatoes). Or leave the salsa out and add another cream soup and chopped broccoli.

The Best Chicken Soup Ever

Wow! Great comfort food especially on a rainy day. I followed this recipe exactly and thought it came out perfect. Just season to your taste and it couldn't be easier. The bow tie pasta really dresses it up!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Personally I thought the biscuit dough made the dish too sweet. I would slightly cook them in the oven and then pour the mixture on top. Also, if you add some sliced carrots, celery, or frozen peas, do so in the last hour and a half.

Easy Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2004
I agree with the previous reviewer who said this is a wonderful starting point. My only change is to maybe add a bit more liquid such as milk or soup. Consider this recipe a base and then go ahead and add some ingredients you really love like broccoli, red chili flake, garlic, shredded cheese (on top), or a packet of onion soup mix. Get creative!

Chicken Orzo Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2004
As is, this recipe is barely servable. The citrus dressing is completely overpowered by all the mayonnaise. All I could taste was mayonnaise and oil. Not a good combination. This recipe does have possibilities but definitely cut way back on those two ingredients. Everything else is so flavorful, why add so many bland ingredients to it?

Broccoli Casserole II

Good recipe but overly salty in my opinion. I will try again but will use low sodium soup and fresh cheese with sliced javanero because I like to control the salt portion.

Blueberry Buttermilk Coffeecake

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2004
I thought this was a fairly average cake. It tastes pretty good but is very heavy; not moist at all. The crumble top is a nice touch but I feel like I made a giant blueberry muffin. If you make this, make sure you really butter the pan otherwise you have no chance of getting the cake out.

Yummy Yam Casserole

I think this is an excellent recipe but it felt like it was missing something. I am going to make it again because it was delicious but I am going to add apples and because I like my yams candied, a few marshmallows.

Honey Mustard Dressing II

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2004
I have bought almost every honey mustard dressing on the market and they always seem to taste like they were made with miracle whip. This was so easy and delicious, much better then anything you can buy and what's great is all the ingredients are already in the fridge. It reminds me of the Outback Steakhouse honey mustard dressing. This is also a big hit with kids!

Lemon Mushroom Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2004
Great recipe. Lot's of flavor and pretty easy. I would suggest using less butter, 1/4 cup is plenty. Also, I used less chicken stock and more wine and it turned out well. It made a lot of extra sauce so you could even cut the sauce recipe back a bit. I had to discard some of mine. I also thickened the sauce by mixing in some of the flour mixture. Oh, and I used chicken tenders instead of breasts which it made it more fun to entertain with. Serve with rice, roasted carrots and garlic bread, yum!
