Real Hummus

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2003
this was a bit overwhelming at first but after a day the flavours were more subtle. This is a really great recipe but next time I will add more garlic!

French Pastry Pie Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2003
This is the best pie crust ever! It's fool proof. I have a tendancy to over work the dough and I figured I had but when it came out of the oven, it was so flaky and tender. Awesome!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2004
These are so soft and sweet. They always turn out beautifully everytime I make them. I make them and ginger cookies and give them away at Christmas time. Everyone loves them!

Naan

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2005
This is a tasty bread but it has more of a pita texture than naan. The naan at my local Indian restaurant is a lot fluffier and soft. This is more dense and chewy it seems. I halved the sugar as others mentioned because even after doing so I found it a bit sweet I also didn't add the garlic but made garlic butter to brush over it. Overall it was good and does the trick in a pinch!

Butter Crescents

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2006
These crescents had a decent flavour but could have used a bit more salt. I wanted something different to have with my beef stew other than the usual biscuits I make. For the time and effort I put in to these though I was disappointed with the texture. They were too dense and doughy. I'd rather stick to my biscuits or buy the pillsbury variety crescent roll in the future to save time.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2006
This is such delicious frosting. Not too sweet and very rich. I replaced one cup of icing sugar with a cup of store bought caramel dip (the kind you find next to apples in the grocery store) and frosted a banana cake with it. I will definitely make this again!

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2006
Thank you so much Kevin for this fantastic recipe. I've never had such a moist banana cake/loaf/muffin! I love the versatlity of this recipe. I made a double layer cake to bring to a party, topped with a caramel cream cheese frosting and pecans rather than walnuts. Everyone at the party loved it, even the ones who don't like bananas!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2006
perfect every time! The flavor is a bit more spicy than when I get it at the deli but I love the extra kick! Slow cooking is key.

Hamburger Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2006
This was so bland and lacking flavour. I took one bite and had to do something to fix it so I added a spice blend. This needs spices. Its an alright base for a casserole but it needs more.

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
I made some slight variations to this recipe (omitted liquid smoke, used fresh onion and balsamic vinagrette dressing) and it still turned out wonderfully. I marinated some strip loin overnight but next time I might let it go even longer. The garlic and balsamic flavors were mellow and not overpowering at all. Delicious, perfect flavor!

Italian Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
I made individual cakes in ramekins and I omitted the rum and almond extracts since I didn't have either and I crushed spice snap cookies for a thin crust, and this recipe turned out great! It has a light texture with just the right amount of sweet, citrus flavour. This recipe is also great if you are trying to watch what you eat because its so low in calories and fat compared to a New York Style cheesecake. A delicious, satisfying dessert!
