French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
Wowzer!!! Sooo good. I used low sodium chicken broth and did not add any more salt. It was perfect...my guest favorite dish for the night. I was afraid to try this because I thought it was supposed to be all beef broth, but it was great! Just realized I forgot the vinegar, lol.

Took 2 minutes to wrap the crescent rolls around the brie and popped it in the oven. We served with Granny Smith apple slices and french bread! It was perfect, elegant and easy!

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
I loved this sauce. I added more dried basil, italian seasoning, sugar and extra garlic, no onions. I used one can of crushed tomatoes, one can of diced tomatoes. A fabulous starter for a lot of great sauces and meals!

The sauce was great--operator error, cooked way to long, but the flavor was awesome, will try again.

Honey Bun Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
My family loved this cake. I ate mine with coffee in the morning and it was really nice. I made the glaze and added a little cinnamon and only one teaspoon of vanilla. I made it in two loaf pans and it made two nice loaves.

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
I did not have any limes so I used lemon juice. It was very good, I imagine it will be even better next time with the lime. I doubled the sauce.

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
We like this with some modifications. I used two small diced fresh tomatoes instead of the sundried. (family does not like the strong taste of sundried. I doubled the sauce and doubled, maybe tripled, the garlic! It was a great hit at our house. I must have cooked the sauce a little high because the milk broke and was not smooth but tasted great. Added 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley at the end and parm cheese.

Banana Cake V

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
I added more banana, cinnamon, a pinch of salt, 1/2 brown sugar, 1/2 white sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder to make up for the heaviness of the brown sugar and the extra bananas; sprinkled top with walnuts. WE LOVE IT!! I drizzle ice it with the vanilla glaze from this site.

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
My husband gave it a 3, 10 year old a 4. I liked it. I followed others suggestions and dusted with flour and used chicken broth. At the end I add more broth and cooked down and added some corn start. I served with no yolk egg noodles. I will try it again.

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
Five stars with a few additions. I sauteed the onions and garlic with the chicken. I added a can of black beans or any bean I have in the house. I did not put in the chili powder because my salsa is pretty spicy. To make it creamier I added a can of tomato soup! IT IS AWESOME!! The family loves this.

Lemon Cream Pasta with Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
I made a few to many revisions, but it was still great. I sauteed the chicken with a little flour on the chicken. My family likes a lot of sauce, so I increased the cream and the chicken broth. Next time I would probably cook the pasta in water and then add it to the sauce. I thought the sauce had a little startch taste to it, but not bad. I increased the lemon and it was a little much. I made a bed of spinach in a bowl and poured the recipe over it and it was great. Next time I will not put quite as much lemon. The family liked the creamy sauce a lot.

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
WOW and double WOW!! It could not be easier or taste better. I did just what the recipe said and served with light sour cream and avocado slices! EVERYONE LOVED IT. I have made it again two days later to have for my lunches! I have added extra salsa and put 1 1/2 cup of uncooked white rice underneath with enough chicken broth to equal the amount of water used to cook rice. We love it both ways.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
I browned the onions, fresh garlic and chicken then deglazed the pan with a little white wine and used fresh herbs. I served it over rice and everyone really enjoyed it. I used canned diced tomatoes that already had a little garlic, basil and oregano.

American Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
I made quite a few changes. I used a jar of Au jus instead of the soup. I used store bought fresh mashed potatoes. I mixed the ground beef and au jus with some garlic, a dash of worchestire sauce and put in the bottom of casserole pan. Then I put a layer of frozen corn and peas, then mashed potatoes and baked. It was great to have the brown gravy with the mashed potatoes!
