Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2015
Served this for Christmas brunch, and it was wonderful. The casserole was 5 stars, but I am giving the recipe as written 4 because I took several suggestions from other reviewers (used croutons instead of bread and used 8 eggs). This will be a new Christmas tradition. Thanks for sharing!

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2015
Delicious! Only change was to bake it about 20 minutes longer than the recipe called for. The flavor was excellent and the cake was as moist as you could wish for. This one is a keeper!

Boston Baked Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2013
Followed the recipe with the sole exception that I only used a scant teaspoon of salt and (since it was what I had on hand) used great northern rather than navy beans. I'm a 3-decade vegetarian, but often cook meat for my husband. The way this recipe is structured, I was able to prepare it in two casseroles: the first following the recipe exactly (but with the full complement of bacon) for my husband, and the second casserole which just omitted the bacon. Served it with Kentucky Biscuits from this site and fresh corn on the cob ... Pure Happiness!!! Thanks so much for sharing!

Kentucky Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2013
Made these to go with the Boston Baked Beans from this site - wonderful! I followed the recipe almost to the letter, with two exceptions: I only kneaded the dough for about 45 seconds (long enough for it to look "right"), and in my oven it took about 18 minutes to finish. Thanks much for sharing!

Roasted Yam and Kale Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2013
We discovered this recipe last year, and have made it several times. It still wows me! The only change I make is to roast the sweet potatoes about 40-45 minutes because we like them a bit crispier. DELICIOUS - thanks for sharing!

Creamy White Chili

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2013
Have made this a couple of times, and we love it! Quick, easy, and with ingredients that we always have on hand. My only change is to reduce the salt by 50%. Also, I have made with both canned and dried great northern beans. Canned is quick, but my preference is to use the dried beans. We serve with crusty french bread - great for dipping!

Pesto Penne Primavera

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2013
Delicious and so fast to pull together! Used fresh basil from the garden and grapeseed oil for the pesto. Also increased veggies by about 50% across the board and then used all the pesto. Added half the pesto to the veggies and mixed in thoroughly, then added the penne and the rest of the pesto. The flavor was just right for us. Thanks for sharing a wonderful recipe!

Cabbage-Carrot Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2013
This has become a go-to recipe for us. I typically follow the recipe exactly, using either green or red cabbage - whatever I have in the fridge, but I'll also throw in an extra carrot if I have it on hand. It is always delicious, and quick/easy to prepare. Thank you so much for sharing!

Fudge Chunkies

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
Like others, I had to double the recipe ... and they still disappear! My only change (this time) was to use dark chocolate chips to melt with the butter, and then white chocolate chips to fold in to the batter because that's what I had on hand. One of our favorite cookies - thanks for sharing!

Chef John's Chili Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2013
Yum! My only deviation from the recipe was cookie size, ending up with 3 dozen, baked for 10 minutes. They came out perfect. We all loved the bit of bite the pepper gave. It wasn't too strong, but you knew there was something special going on. Thank you for sharing this recipe!
