Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
I've made this for years and it's awesome as written. I usually add some chopped carrots. Lately I have changed the method I use because I didn't like making the white sauce. I cook the sliced potatoes in the microwave for 10-12 minutes, covered, stirring a few times. Meanwhile, I sauté the onion, celery and carrot in the 5 T. butter, and when they are softened mix in the 5 T. flour. Cook and stir the flour/veggie mixture for a few minutes, then add the water, bouillon and milk. Stir in the ham. Remove the potatoes from the microwave and add to the soup. I like to mash about half the potatoes before adding.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2012
I have used this recipe as my standard for a few years. My kids and I loved it, but my husband did not. One day I asked him to pick up the ingredients at the store and he bought chili beans and a smaller bottle of tomato juice (1 quart). That version he loved! It was thicker and was less tomato-y. I rate both versions 5 stars.

Tomato Bisque III

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
Terrific tomato soup! Very simple to make. I made according to the recipe, except that I was out of tomato paste. It still tasted great. My 10 year old daughter helped make it, and she also loved it. We served with a sprinkle of shredded cheese on top.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins

These turned out great for me. I added 1/4 cup of cocoa to the batter for extra chocolate flavor, and left out the nuts.

Cool Whipped Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2007
This was the traditional topping for Jello poke cakes at our house. Its terrific on all kinds of cakes though. I like to use cheesecake pudding with French vanilla Cool Whip.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2006
This is wonderful. I have always made it using the water, and it has never turned out runny for me. I add some vanilla to the water, and a little cinnamon in the topping.

Sue's Hot Fudge Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2005
This is wonderful! I used 1/2 cup of cocoa and boiled for 10 minutes. It is very thick and smooth. I think the blending is key.
