Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2003
Yum, great flavor. I like too have something to chew on, so i did not puree the soup. But I found doing it this way it needed an extra cup of milk and a little more flour. Turned out great. Even the kids loved it, well the ones that like broccoli anyway. Thanks for the great recipe.

Bill's Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2003
Great dressing, used fresh garlic and tablespoon of lemon juice, cut the worcestershire sauce in half, skipped the salt and used about and ounce of the cheese pureed it with the rest of the ingredients in my blender, then added the rest of the cheese, turned out great. This would be a great way for those who need the dressing in a hurry, because it already had a great flavor when I was done.

Banana Chocolate Chip Dessert

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2003
These had great flavor, but were very hard to cut. I even put them in the fridge for awhile too. Didn't help. Was more like cake than bars. I followed another reviewer and melted chocolate chips on top, which did not help in cutting them up. If I make them again I may partially freeze them before I try too cut them up and then spread them with melted chocolate.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2003
Great starter recipe. I followed most of the suggestions from the other reviewers and used tomato juice instead of water, added a couple of cloves of minced garlic, added a can of black beans along with the other two kinds of beans, two cans of rotel instead of the diced tomatoes and can of diced green chilis, ranch dressing, red onion, chopped cilantro and some green peppper. Made the mistake of putting in a cup of rice and it ended up more like chili than soup, but it still tasted great. Will make again with all the changes except the rice. The cheese and the sour cream are a must. Thanks Janeen, I know I changed the heck out of it but you gave me a really great start too a really good "soup".... :)

Alternative Baked Salmon

Not bad, if you are going too add lemon juice, don't add too much, I did and it overpowered the fish. If I make this again I will not make that mistake again.

Rice A Roni™ Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2003
Very good. Used chicken-mushroom, it called for milk to be added at the end of cooking, decided not too add the milk, thought it would make it mushy. Used half celery and half green pepper. Some mushrooms would have been good in it too. Will make again. Thanks Laurie

Jambalaya Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2003
Great recipe, followed the advice of other reviewers and used kielbasa instead of ham, and instead of plain old salt used Zatarans creole seasoning. Make sure you use long grain rice, I forgot to get it and used short grain, the rice turned out a little mushy, still tasted good. I think washing the rice would have helped too. Oh well, next time this won't be a problem for me.

Red Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2003
Great sauce, followed other reviewers and used chicken broth (making chicken enchiladas, will use beef when making beef enchiladas), no salt, red pepper instead of black, chipotle salsa, more chili powder, tomato paste instead of tomato sauce and an extra garlic clove. Put it all in my blender, pureed it, then I simmered it. Wanted a smooth sauce. Turned out great.

Kathy's Award Winning Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2003
Great stuff, followed others suggestions and used half molasses, half dark corn syrup, fresh garlic and added a quarter cup of dijon mustard, cut the peppers in half, kids here too. It still is spicy. I can only imagine how spicy it is when you use all of the pepper called for.

Everyone loved this gravy. I use what ever sausage I have on hand and always turns out great. For a little extra flavor instead of salt I add a chicken bouillon cube.

Oh My Gosh!!! This cake is great!! Cherries chocolate cake, and fudge frosting all come together into one great tasting cake. Didn't change a thing and never plan too. All you need when you are done is a cold glass of milk. Thanks for the great recipe Jan.

Spam and Eggs

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2004
Have been eating spam and eggs for years. People from Alaska and Hawaii eat the most spam than anywhere else in America (ak. here). I toss in half a sliced green onion or some mushrooms for a change of taste. And instead of stirring in the eggs, just make yourself a Spam omlet.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2004
Great stuff. Used only one can of beans, red enchilada sauce (from this site) instead of taco sauce, added spanish rice and used mexican blend cheeses instead of the colby. I blended the diced tomatoes, green chilies, garlic, enchilada sauce, one package of taco seasoning mix (kids would have picked all these things out if I didn't). Use a serrated knife too cut this one. Turned out great.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2004
Made the sauce and just one chicken breast cut into strips, wanted to see if I could serve this too my family. No way. Too darn hot. LOL. Tasted great to me, but no way the rest of the family would eat it. I even cut the hot sauce in half. Woo Hoo, mouth is still on fire. Don't know how some of you added more hot sauce or red pepper. Will make again, but only for myself and only when I feel like fire in my mouth.
